View Full Version : Toronto meet-up
hereisnowhy 06-30-2005, 09:31 AM Is anyone planning to get together before or after the show on saturday? I'm coming up from hamilton with a friend maybe around lunchtime to get in line, or just to hang out if standing in line sucks. It would be cool if someone brought a guitar or something.

hereisnowhy 06-30-2005, 10:38 AM Hmm... aren't all the venues on this tour just as small? And people have still been lining up early...?
zerozwan 06-30-2005, 10:44 AM i suppose if you want front row than you should probably wait in line.
i live pretty close to the venue though, and i'm sure any spot will be good, so i don't think i'll be going until after the doors open.
DeadOpera 06-30-2005, 11:07 AM I have to go to a wedding in the afternoon so i'll probably miss the opening act and show up a bit late.
Cruiser 06-30-2005, 12:27 PM I was wondering about line times too... if I were to try for right up front, how early would you suggest I go?
I scoped out the place on the weekend and there's not really anywhere to line up. You have to go through College Park which is sort of like an office building for those who don't know, and then up an elevator to the top floor. And I doubt they'll let people line up inside so it'd probably just be going down yonge street. Which would be a shitty place to line up for a few hours. Looks like an interesting venue though. Unless they'd let you up to the top and have some kind of waiting area up there but I doubt that. I was wondering how early people are gonna be there. I want a place close to the front but not to where the moshing assholes are crushing my ribs.

No, I realized later on what he meant. I originally thought he was making a sarcastic comment that people would be moshing to "I'm Ready" and there would be little girls crying for Billy. But I was wrong!
Also, I was referring to you picking on me on the board but nevermind, not important.

A+
hereisnowhy 06-30-2005, 06:15 PM Does anyone know if we're allowed to bring a backpack or anything in?
Usually they make you check your bags. Like at a desk or whatever.

That's cool. As long as they don't refuse to let me in with it.

In my experience it's pretty easy to get front row without lining up beforehand. Just walk up there instead of buying tshirts (the hardcores who did line up will be buying them), or if it fills up before you get in there just gently make your way through the crowd.
If you absolutely have to be front row, then yeah line up for a couple hours. But I doubt it'll be hard to get a good spot in the floor no matter when you show up.
awesome... thanks very much for the help!
So... chicks that hate me... are you gonna give me a temporary break or what? Cause I'm gonna hang with Shaunna and Fares a bit. Whoa, only 2 days away!
Hey guys, are we all gonna wear Zwan shirts or what? I'm down for whatever.
syntax 07-01-2005, 12:20 PM Yeah, it says "DOORS OPEN" at 8 so there won't be any indoor line up. I don't want to line up at all, so if no one does, then I won't have to.
Ok. So let's all be there at 8 pm. sound good? yes? ok.

Ok. So let's all be there at 8 pm. sound good? yes? ok. The building it's in is gonna be open. So there could be like a lineup to the elevator inside that takes you up but I really doubt that the building would allow that. They probably won't let anyone up there til 8. Unless there's a massive waiting area.
zerozwan 07-01-2005, 12:42 PM those zerokitty shirts were actually made? i wanted one!
oh and dead, you totally said you were hanging out with shaunna and fares and you didn't mention me! thanks!
syntax 07-01-2005, 12:44 PM Yeah...hopefully not though. My hotel's down the street, so I'll probably pop out every once and awhile to see how the hardcore los-...fans are doing.
Also, does anyone think an expired ID will be a big deal? They're really sticky about it at casinos and liquor stores so I don't know....

yeah, there was an ultra-limited edition - only 3 Zerrokitty T-shirts were produced.
Too bad we don't have Netphoria shirts that say FU! cause the only other theme I can think of is Zwan shirts. SP shirts would be kinda tacky.. unless it was the END shirt.

syntax 07-01-2005, 12:50 PM Are you guys all in on some plan to wreck the show? Why would you all buy tickets if you want to.....
nevermind.
Maybe you all find other activities instead, like arts and crafts.
No... are you? Cause I would kick your ass!!!!!!
syntax 07-01-2005, 12:54 PM No way, this is my first Billy show ever.
Why do you all want to wear shirts to offend Billy then? You know he's very sensitive.

Dude, that was one cool T-shirt. The girl at the place where I let them make, she was so enthusiastic about it, you should see her - chances are she made herself the fourth one.

NO ONE CARE
The mysterious 4th shirt. Maybe it's real, maybe not. We should hold an annual concert in the hopes that it will reveal itself. We'll call the event "4th Shirt".

Ah darling, your fat little finger hit the caps lock key. Now you play nice or I'll tell your nurse to take away computer time for you kids.
mirrar 07-01-2005, 03:04 PM aww look, a single blind defender of everything bolls does. i'm afraid you're going to find yourself severely outnumbered among this crowd of old friends, buddy.
syntax 07-01-2005, 03:08 PM What the fuck are you talking about? I'm a 'blind defender' because I bought tickets for a show because I enjoyed the CD? Sorry I didn't go to great lengths to 'show' Billy how bitter I am about his current music by purchasing tickets and funding his current endeavors.
God, some of you people are mental. I won't be communicating with any of you anyways, so why would this be something I cared about at all?
Graveflower 07-01-2005, 03:49 PM xtina isnt that nice in person, she's definitely kind of mean
i'm going to call that post out as pure hyperbole
DeviousJ 07-01-2005, 04:00 PM Dude that's not what hyperbole means
RopeyLopey 07-01-2005, 04:03 PM so i just went to check that Carlu place. I mean is that correct there are only 2 elevators going up to the theatre? I couldn't find any stairs.
I mean it will take a while till you transport around 1000 people by two elevators.
I willl come around 7.45 first, anyway.

oh crazy....maybe they aren't really equipped to have this kind of show. It seems like they don't do concerts that often. Weird that he's not playing somewhere else.

syntax 07-01-2005, 04:27 PM The elevator thing would be pretty funny actually. There probably would have to be stairs somewhere for emergencies or something.
Do you know which entrance we're supposed to go in?

Do you know which entrance we're supposed to go in? Looked to me like the elevators there are the main entrance. I have no idea how the lineup will work.

So what time is everyone showing up? I still don't know what to wear!!!

i ended up getting balcony seats because the person i'm going with doesn't feel like standing (at least they're good seats), so i'm probably going to show up around 7:30.
I was thinking about wearing my SP cross shirt... i don't think it'll be that big of a deal now that the "revival" has been announced, but i dunno... maybe i'll just go with my Fender shirt instead *shrugs*
NilSineDeo 07-02-2005, 09:05 AM The Carlu (http://www.thecarlu.com)
if you go under Events, it says that the doors open at 7 and the concert begins at 8

Weird that it doesn't specify which concert, it's like a generic statement.
RopeyLopey 07-02-2005, 01:41 PM Ticket says doors open at 8pm-> I come at 8.

yeah, and even if the concert does begin at 8, it's not like you'll be missing anything good. I heard the first band sucks
They said doors at 8, no lineup before 7, and you do take the elevators up.
machinaddict 07-02-2005, 03:23 PM I'm going to be leaving Kingston at 5pm, so hopefully we should get there around 7:30. I'm pretty fucking pumped.
I'll be wearing a tan silverchair shirt (lolz) and blue shorts. I'll be looking shaggy as usual. Mike's got a red weezer shirt and looks like the singer from cuff the duke. We will be rocking front and centre stage the second we get there.
come say hi if you want to smoke a jizzont after the show and circlejerk about billy.
zerozwan 07-02-2005, 05:29 PM i just got home from work (6:30). rolling a joint, taking the dog out, and leaving soon.
see you there sean!
