Since I don’t know much outside of SP material, I was just curious what “ultra leet” stuff other bands had and why. Mostly random curiosity – I’m interested to hear the stories behind why things are so rare. Thanks for your indulgence.

there are no others.

us here in the SP community are the only ones special enough to carry these little rules and "leet" discussions that go with trading politics. great isint it?

That's actually not entirely true. The Primus community (which isn't very large anymore) has a couple of true holy grails. The first is an acoustic show that the band did under a pseudonym (Bob Cock And The Yellow Sock) on video, and only two people have copies of it. The other is an original VHS copy of a webcast that the band did (not a VHS recorded from the webcast, the actual VHS used to broadcast it). I don't know a whole ton about the other communities, but those are the two I know exist in the Primus community.

The only other community i know besides SP is the very small Motorpsycho community. We are extremely 1337, but everything available is available as far as i know. There are some recordings that are not in the communtity, but those are mostly rumoured ones.

The only possible holy grail is their first known show, there's a soundboard of that show, and we only have one song, from their first demo.

Every community has things that the band has given to close friends with the request to not be released.

they do exist. only a few people have them. but they can't give them out. it's the holy grail of the dmb community.

so, if there is a bootleg played, and nobody's there to hear it...does it make a sound?

Ever noticed this?
If there's a topic where "leet" stuff is mentioned, like new shows, sources, MP, whatever, our friend D4 has most certainly replied. In all the other topics, he's nowhere to be found.

Well, YKYR just blew its cover...but the issue over the Nirvana box-set doesn't seem resolved. I hear that it's coming out in Christmas, then someone says that they're only doing a Greatest Hits CD, then someone else says it'll be GH, then later a box. And I've read or heard each of these from relatively "reliable" press articles.

So, yeah, Krist Novoselic and Courtney Love are dirty hoarders!

The song (you know you're right) is ok - nothing amazing. But that's way OT. Anyway, thanks for stories (there were a few there I guess).

I don't think it's that off topic. I mean, as far as 2 weeks ago, only the 1337 nirvana folks had copies of it. I think it would be something similar to a Pale Scales studio version.

there's a boot very very few people have amongst the nirvana trading community, called fecal matter. songs ******* titles like "bambi slaughter" and "suicide samuri."
