so, i'll be having this SBD-patch for EITS on 3rd of october, but i don't really know which cables i need to connect from SBD-XLR to my MD. will i need something like this? SoundProfessional Cables (http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cgi-bin/gold/category.cgi?category=250&item=SP-XLRF-MINI-2&type=store)

and no, unfortunatly i can not afford a decent a/d-converter to get into the opt. in of my md, nor can i afford a vxpocket-card right now.

and i guess i would be going line-in, wouldn't i? any other things to be aware of?

oh, and does anybody know the technical details of the A/D-converter used in the sony mzr-900 ?

I'm only guessing here, so if I'm wrong, someone please correct me. I *think* you'd want -20dB attenuator cable between the board and your MD.

Also, that cable says it's female. . . I'm thinking that SBD outputs are female, so you'd want a male cable, but I don't know for sure. . . Depends on the board maybe, but in my experience with smaller boards, XLR outputs are usually female.

Those are the right ones. You need female to go out. You might need an attuenator, but you might not, depending on the output. You can easily overload with XLR since its not grounded, afaik.

I know here in the US you can buy XLR-F>RCA-M for $11 each, and then you just need a Stereo RCA-F>1/8"-M, which costs like $2. All at a music store like Sam Ash or Guitar Center. You can get the RCA>mini at any radioshack, maybe you can get those cables there too.
