More than three years after Chicago's own Smashing Pumpkins played their final concert, enigmatic songwriter Billy Corgan is changing his tune on why the multi-platinum band broke up.
In a Tuesday installment of Corgan's Web log at billycorgan.com, he wrote: "The truth of the matter is is (sic) that James Iha broke up the Smashing Pumpkins..."
Iha was the Pumpkins' guitarist for their entire career. Corgan offers no specifics on how Iha broke up
What is this all about? I'm really not as down with Billy anymore. James didn't break up shit.

Tip for Billy Corgan: If you're going to dump some of the shit, don't be a bitch about it. We all know the blame lies with you.
That being said, I'm glad the Pumpkins broke up. It's far better to end it while it's good than to let it end on you.

did you ever read billy's entire journal entry for that remark. did you read all of the entries for the" blue bc.com" aka the old bc.com? he gives more reasons than the one that you are trying to point out.

the only specifics Billy offers is that he didn't wanna break up, neither did Jimmy and James wanted out. So "out of loyalty to the man I started the band with" they ended it.
about 5 days later, Corgan posted a msg that basically outted himself as being in love with James.

he also stated that right after the final show, james just upped and left. hopped a plane, and billy said right there if james would of stayed, things could of been different. i cant remember the exact words though. you guys read it too though. also, you know he meant he loves james like family or brother like.
