I received 2 sets of FAEOMM from my source directly at Virgin Records. He says that he only got 2 sets and that they were very scarce. I was originally going to keep one of the sets to sell himself, but he decided that was not a good idea since he still works at Virgin, so he sold it to me. ------------------ http://www.netphoria.org/wwwboard/avatars/custom/O::Doyle_Rules.gif Dead 09-10-2002, 03:00 PM That makes 4 or 5 known copies? They are the real deal. Billy pressed the vinyl after Virgin rejected his idea. The difference is clear after listening to the CDs. collectspumpkins 09-12-2002, 09:16 PM Originally posted by zoe1271: The promos are not vinyl or mp3 sourced. I had bought just one of the 3 track EPs off Ebay for like $30. Everyone thought it was fake, etc. I listened to the CD once in my car on my way home from the Post Office and based on that, made my post and included the word *digital*. In my zest and excitement of receiving this, when I first heard it I did think it was digital. Then the 4cd set was on ebay which aspecialkid won. Luckily, another set was offered to me off of Ebay at literally exactly the same time. Then I listened to the whole 4 cd set. And then the pops and clicks and general static sound that you hear from vinyl is evident. But I never said anything. Although the set is from vinyl, it is different from the SPIFC and Q101 versions. So it is a 3rd source. But how many sources do we need of the same songs? There really isn't that much to discern between the Q101 version and the Virgin 4cd one. So if you have the Q101, you are good to go. If you are a completist, then pick up the Virgin 4cd set version. The thing that somewhat surprises me is why the 3 other people who had the set never called me out on the whole digital claim. I mean, surely they had to have listened to it and known. So I am not trying to burst anyone's bubble, but I don't want any false hope. Now supposedly someone did lift a digital M2 from the CRC, but we don't know where he is...so digital copies do exist, they just weren't made by Virgin. So that is the honest to god truth. Mike, I hope you re-listen to the set and verify that it is indeed vinyl sourced, because it is not digital. Period. This should bring closure to this debate. Ok, back into hiding.
