Axl Rose 04-05-2005, 12:10 AM no seriously, there on itunes, right now, trust me!!!!!!!! NilSineDeo 04-05-2005, 12:12 AM if I wasn't lazy, i'd take a screenshot to prove to all the newbies who're rushing to iTunes that they're not on there NilSineDeo 04-05-2005, 12:12 AM at least not on the American store Axl Rose 04-05-2005, 12:14 AM nah dude, the american store is the one I saw it on, checked at about 12:02 am and it is on there and listed up at the top of the main page along with the other new releases! Hope you can check it out! Dead 04-05-2005, 12:25 AM It's there. 114 rarities & b-sides. $112.86 Canadian. Dead 04-05-2005, 12:28 AM I didn't listen with headphones but it sounded like Purr Snickety has no crackle. I'll check tomorrow and buy it if its clean. Siamese Dream and Terrapin sound good also. Dead 04-05-2005, 12:31 AM When I search under Smashing Pumpkins it comes back with 228 songs. But just the same old albums are on there, plus the new 114. Ehhh part of it is that they have PI as well as the rarities. Overlaps. Plus the Rotten Apples overlaps. What a scam, 228 songs but many are dupes. Reyngel 04-05-2005, 12:35 AM Originally posted by Dead What a scam, 228 songs but many are dupes. That sucks, yeah, but I don't really think it's a scam. Who would actually download the duplicates twice? Sapphire 04-05-2005, 12:38 AM Originally posted by Reyngel That sucks, yeah, but I don't really think it's a scam. Who would actually download the duplicates twice? People who don't know the Pumpkins catalouge inside out like we do? Dead 04-05-2005, 12:48 AM It is indeed a scam, they've been saying the Pumpkins had this massive 229 song output over 10 years. And it's gotta be under 200 if you take those dupes out. I wanted Machina 2 dammit. Dead 04-05-2005, 12:49 AM Holy shit, Blissed and Gone is some acoustic version! Dead 04-05-2005, 12:53 AM The whores, you don't get any discount at all for buying the whole package. At least in Canada. I love that song, damn it. hmm... i don't know what to say! you are using the US store? i see it as number 65, blissed and gone, runtime 4:44 wHATcOLOR 04-05-2005, 02:35 AM ok goodnight dudes, see you in the morning Michiel 04-05-2005, 05:43 AM It's even in the Dutch music store! A few days ago they had nothing. Now, let's see which tracks I don't have. Dead 04-05-2005, 07:23 AM Originally posted by Jerome any confirmation on blissed and gone being acoustic? I made that up before I went to bed, sorry. The rest of the stuff I said was true tho. Dead 04-05-2005, 07:26 AM So the full Purr Snickety sounds totally crackle free? I want that one. I'll probably get only that, Siamese Dream, Terrapin & Bullet Train. Dead 04-05-2005, 07:29 AM Hey what are songs like Disarm doing in there? It's the album version! So is I Am One. And Cherub Rock. That's just stupid! Guess we don't have to buy them, but the whole advertising for this was 114 rarities/b-sides. Also, it's dumb to put Earphoria in there, it's basically an album. Michiel 04-05-2005, 07:31 AM Originally posted by Dead Hey what are songs like Disarm doing in there? It's the album version! So is I Am One. And Cherub Rock. That's just stupid! Guess we don't have to buy them, but the whole advertising for this was 114 rarities/b-sides. What is almost all of earphoria doing in there? Dead 04-05-2005, 07:33 AM Originally posted by Michiel What is almost all of earphoria doing in there? Yeah I just edited my post to ask that. Dumb! But like I said, we don't have to buy those if we don't want to. It's just stupid of them to do it that way though! I have everything on there anyway, just want to replace a few vinyl-only tracks. They should have put Tristessa 7" on there too. Dead 04-05-2005, 07:34 AM They also renamed it to 'Never Let Me Down Again' NilSineDeo 04-05-2005, 07:36 AM I have a feeling that a lot of the stuff that we feel shouldn't be there, like the album tracks, are there so people could complete their collections; so they could have the entire BWBW single, and not just "most of it" (yeah, i know it's stupid, but it's the only reason i could think of). Billy said in an article that this release was only the beginning, so let's hope Machina II and some unheard-of tracks will be released next Dead 04-05-2005, 07:38 AM Yeah I guess. But I don't think people care about the whole full single thing, they can use their album tracks if they want to do that. Yeah I hope more stuff comes out, I just wish it was on real CDs or a better format. But I suppose this will do, I haven't listened closely yet though. Dead 04-05-2005, 07:49 AM Aw shit I wanted to use my dad's iTunes account but it requires the password :P Dead 04-05-2005, 07:50 AM Ahahah I guessed right on the first try. Downloading 4 tracks now. The New 04-05-2005, 08:00 AM Living in Australia=no iTunes Hopefully i can get the few i want on Napster or something Though they're not up on there yet This is another reason billy should post something himself on the subject Not to mention his album etc. zerock 04-05-2005, 08:02 AM i have some on my shopping cart for later when i have money :P Dead 04-05-2005, 08:16 AM I'm trying to figure out how to authorize the songs on my pc. I think updating itunes may help. Dead 04-05-2005, 08:21 AM Ok got it to work, time to sync then go to school, later dudes. Spaceboy88 04-05-2005, 08:39 AM Originally posted by Jerome wow, i forgot how apocalyptic the beginning is the end is the beginning is!! any confirmation on blissed and gone being acoustic? Dead 04-05-2005, 08:55 AM They sound pretty good. Worth the $3.96. Phoenix Down 04-05-2005, 09:14 AM where's the acoustic Mayonaise from? it sounds really good. i don't mean the live everywhere one spacey raygun 04-05-2005, 10:01 AM although i did purchace the vinyl only tracks (purr, terrapin, bullet train, siamese dream), i am still quite disappointed in this release. $112 for the same old shit, in mp3 no less, is a fucking rip off. i wrote a review http://music.msn.com/album/default.aspx?album=41428939&stab=2&mpc=1&flt=3 and yeah, why isn't the original tristessa on here? they have room for album tracks but not for this? Axis of Action 04-05-2005, 10:03 AM Originally posted by Phoenix Down where's the acoustic Mayonaise from? it sounds really good. i don't mean the live everywhere one mashed potatoes? also, everyone, I wouldn't picked up Infinite Sadness, it sounds verbatim like what's on MP. spacey raygun 04-05-2005, 10:04 AM Originally posted by Phoenix Down where's the acoustic Mayonaise from? it sounds really good. i don't mean the live everywhere one this was availible on mashed potatoes, 1991-1998, rotten apples, and still becoming apart... and an incomplete version on the b-side of the PI+F tape. DjaliPumpkin 04-05-2005, 10:24 AM It's also on Puretracks. http://www.puretracks.com/detail.aspx?pid=emi_0724347443657 DeviousJ 04-05-2005, 10:34 AM Originally posted by Phoenix Down where's the acoustic Mayonaise from? it sounds really good. i don't mean the live everywhere one If it's the SBA one I'm guessing it's a mix of the album recording with a few tracks missing, hence the phasing and reverb on his voice Corganist 04-05-2005, 10:36 AM I just listened to some previews of the vinyl tracks. They all sound pretty good by my ears, despite the mp3ishness. I'll definitely try to pick those up. I'll probably spring for Christmastime too, considering I've never wanted to spring for the 12.00 to buy the whole cd for that one song. If I'm real motivated, I'll probably buy some of the vinyl tracks that I already have in digital from boot sources like MP. (Not Worth Asking, Honeyspider, Infinite Sadness, etc.). No sense in not giving the band something for enjoying those songs for free all these years. theres 04-05-2005, 10:53 AM how long do these iTune thingies stay on the site for? i really don't think i can pay for these. i'm waiting for the probable cd release. zerock 04-05-2005, 11:28 AM Originally posted by theres how long do these iTune thingies stay on the site for? i really don't think i can pay for these. i'm waiting for the probable cd release. all the time, thereisnt a limited time. douglas78 04-05-2005, 12:12 PM the album cover art on the site looks good e'nuf for a cd . douglas78 04-05-2005, 12:13 PM who's gonna spend the 100 some odd dollars for the whole lot? Honestly, these are the only ones that I thought were worth buying. I burned them onto a CD in this order: -Slunk - Never had this one. -Siva (Peel Sessions) - Ditto. -Smiley (Peel Sessions) - Have it, but awful quality. -Glynis - Same. -Bullet Train to Osaka - Same. -Apathy's Last Kiss - Actually have this on the CD that came with the "Still Becoming Apart" disc, but forgot until I already purchased it. :| -The Ethers Tragic - I don't think it ever was available before at CD quality. -Speed Kills - Heard it, but lost the file long ago. -Czarina - Never had it. -Summer - Ditto. -1979 (Vocal Mix) - Ditto. -1979 (Instrumental Mix) - Ditto. -Sad Peter Pan - Have it, but awful quality. It does seem like every single track available has gone through the remastering process; everything sounds a lot cleaner, but louder. Hello Kitty Kat finally doesn't make your speakers sound like they're busted, but I still didn't buy it. I don't think I knew that Machina vinyl had Speed Kills. spacey raygun 04-11-2005, 05:38 PM Originally posted by Dead Yar the Japanese release has it on there as a bonus track but it's an edit. I think the guy I quoted was talking about finding the whole collection on napster and I asked about the bitrate, but I was only interested in those 4 tracks. I have good sources of them already, plus every other track in the collection. I just have always wanted a clear Purr Snickety. The iTunes file sounds pretty good for lossy. If I have misinterpreted your question let me know, I'm kind of confused after re-reading it. spacey raygun 04-13-2005, 12:57 AM Originally posted by Dead If I have misinterpreted your question let me know, I'm kind of confused after re-reading it. when i said "flacs" i was just being a netphoric braggart. :D i spent a lot of time ripping all of my official cds (which i find is great considering that they're all right here!!) my goal was to eclipse the "official release" of a-sides and not-so-rarities. i think i succeeded. i've decided to ******* every officially released song (including the self-released demo tapes and machina II). if it's listed on the spfc as official, it's in my flac collection. i think the only tracks i need now are: tristessa (sup pop) nme brat pack (spaceboy acoustic 6.30.93)* no toys for oj (rudolph the red-nosed reindeer 12.12.93)* onXRT (rocket 7.23.93)* *from a digital source if availible but those tracks aren't such a big deal... it's nice to know all of my SP CDs are backed up!
