When I search under Smashing Pumpkins it comes back with 228 songs. But just the same old albums are on there, plus the new 114.

Ehhh part of it is that they have PI as well as the rarities. Overlaps. Plus the Rotten Apples overlaps. What a scam, 228 songs but many are dupes.

the guns of love disastrous is slow too, but has a synth sound to it. and has sort of an asian flair, hah.

If it's the SBA one I'm guessing it's a mix of the album recording with a few tracks missing, hence the phasing and reverb on his voice

I just listened to some previews of the vinyl tracks. They all sound pretty good by my ears, despite the mp3ishness. I'll definitely try to pick those up. I'll probably spring for Christmastime too, considering I've never wanted to spring for the 12.00 to buy the whole cd for that one song.

If I'm real motivated, I'll probably buy some of the vinyl tracks that I already have in digital from boot sources like MP. (Not Worth Asking, Honeyspider, Infinite Sadness, etc.). No sense in not giving the band something for enjoying those songs for free all these years.

-Slunk - Never had this one.

-Siva (Peel Sessions) - Ditto.

-Smiley (Peel Sessions) - Have it, but awful quality.

-Glynis - Same.

-Bullet Train to Osaka - Same.

-Apathy's Last Kiss - Actually have this on the CD that came with the "Still Becoming Apart" disc, but forgot until I already purchased it. :|

-The Ethers Tragic - I don't think it ever was available before at CD quality.

-Speed Kills - Heard it, but lost the file long ago.

-Czarina - Never had it.

-Summer - Ditto.

-1979 (Vocal Mix) - Ditto.

-1979 (Instrumental Mix) - Ditto.

-Sad Peter Pan - Have it, but awful quality.

It does seem like every single track available has gone through the remastering process; everything sounds a lot cleaner, but louder. Hello Kitty Kat finally doesn't make your speakers sound like they're busted, but I still didn't buy it.

If I pay for a album or collection of songs on the Internet without physically having the CD, they better be at CD quality, literally. You should have the option to download lossless songs.

edited rhino is from lull, edited drown is from rotten apples/1991-1998, speek kills is full length, so it's not from either of the machina formats (jap CD or vinyl) it's from the SIYL single

Even if you limit it to officially released songs, it is too bad there is no Jackie Blue or the first version of Tristessa - especially given all the duplicate tracks in the "rare" section. Cleaner versions of those would have been nice. It was good to finally hear stuff like Sad Peter Pan, Ether's Tragic, and Summer, though.

I think the guy I quoted was talking about finding the whole collection on napster and I asked about the bitrate, but I was only interested in those 4 tracks. I have good sources of them already, plus every other track in the collection. I just have always wanted a clear Purr Snickety. The iTunes file sounds pretty good for lossy.
