I've been having this problem with transferring from my TCD-D8's analog line out, to the analog line in on my Zoltrix Nightingale Pro 6, and I'm wondering if anyone can help me with it.
First, I realize I should be transferring with a digital cable, but at $70US, I can't really afford one right now.
Second, I'm taping at 44.1khz and capturing the wav at 44.1khz in Sound Forge.
The problem is, on the tape, things sound fine. When I get the wav transferred, there's this weird. . . Washy noise. Graphically, it would be represented by a sine wave. The volume gets louder and quieter in rapid succession. For a sample of what I mean, check my FTP;

It's a quick sample of a Tool show I taped a while back, and you can clearly hear the problem. A few certain people have offered to transfer my tapes for me, and I appreciate it but I know how busy they are, and I don't really wanna add to that. If anyone can offer me a reason for my transfers coming out like this, other than buying a digital cable, I'd appreciate it.
PS: The first time I transferred a show from my DAT, it did NOT make that sound. It's only the second and third times that I've tried it.
EDIT: If anyone has a used 7-pin>coax I/O cable they'd like to sell, I'd be very interested.
-Brandon [Thanks in advance]
