I almost laughed, but instead I could only muster a mild cough.

I'd say he has about 50. If you were rich and played guitar, there's no reason not to buy every guitar you thought was cool.

Between Billy and James there was over 30 guitars on the Machina tour.

i bet they range anyway where from fender to the cheap one you can find at the pawn shop. just the fact that he owns them makes them great guitars.

hey Jerome, I can't believe you were serious with the numbers in the poll...the dude must have no less than 50-100 guitars.

hm, let's take a look at Gish guitars only, that you can find in Gish section of Infinite pictures:
there are 9 different guitars (even though at least one is probably lost/stolen), and even at that time he wasn't exactly rich enough to get whatever guitar he wanted:

to this day i dont think i've seen a picture of him playing a strat with a rosewood neck.

and as for that sunburst strat pic that was post. i think that later 'evolved' into the one he played on cherub rock, today and i am one during siamese dream era shows. Cause you can see in later pictures during the mc is tour that the silver plaint had faded, revealiing a subburst finish underneath.

could be wrong though.

have to find exactly but I remember having seen him playing on a Gisbon SG (all black, don't remember exact model but I think it looked like a '61 reissue) on Perfect (Adore) and another Gibson I can't identify but which looks like Lucille (BB King's guitar).

Billy's SGs that have been seen = Iommi Custom Shop,'65 Standard,'62 Special

The BB King-ish one is a Gibson ES-335.

Quick question (kind of off topic but, you're all guitar freaks too so...) Is Lucille a one-of-a-kind or does BB King own multiple "Lucilles". I would guess the later. Also, my favorite Gish era strat is the fourth one down that RopeyLopey
posted. There used to be a tele with almost the exact same paint job at one of my local music shops (Bill's in Baltimore if anyone knows). I haven't been there in ages but they had that guitar for sale there in the glass case for at least 3 years. I always wanted to get it but $1000 was a bit steep for me for a novelty guitar. I hate playing teles.

You can buy a Lucille model. It's not hollow like the ES-335. The tele you saw was a Paisley Tele.

This week end, I gave a look to all videos of SP and Zwan, trying to identify all the Gibson Billy used. Other guitars will come later :
Gibson Lucille : All the Young dude (with David Bowie), Tinite (live, streamed on MTV2, with many many violins), Muzzle (live on O'Brien 1997), 1979 (Live), Cherub Rock (Live @ musique plus, Mellon Collie or Adore era I think, BC has no more hair), Wound (same recording session as Cherub Rock)
Gibson SG, cherry, with a small pickguard : Zero (Live)
Gibson SG, black, with a big pickguard : The Everlasting Gaze (video clip)
Gibson Les Paul vintage sunburst : The Everlasting Gaze (Live @ ABC), I of the Mourning (Live Letterman 04-26-00)

I understand that. I was just wondering if BB King used the same exact guitar all of these years or if he used many Lucilles.
