View Full Version : Corgan spotted...album release info
workedupsodown 03-10-2005, 12:47 AM Ok, so my a good friend of mine works at the Chicago Music exchange on Belmont and Corgan came in about 2 weeks ago and dropped over 10 grand on a bass and guitar. While there, some kids were talking to him about the album and he said it would be out in a couple months.
I'm trying to figure out what a couple months means to Corgan cause don't you think there would be something online somewhere talking about the release. Even in the last rolling stone Corgan wasn't mentioned at all about his album coming out in the spring when they had that spring preview....we need some answers.
Reyngel 03-10-2005, 01:02 AM Interesting... thanks for the news.

Rockin' Cherub 03-10-2005, 11:21 AM he probably just said it to make the kids and your friend go away.
neopryn 03-10-2005, 11:24 AM it's not coming out kids. ever.

teh b0lly!!1 03-10-2005, 12:00 PM the best part of the story is how he spent 10 grand on guitars and basses.

10 grand on A guitar and A bass....as I read it. As in, those are some pretty fucking expensive instruments.....probably vintage or something. That place has vintage stuff.
ciGarski 03-10-2005, 12:54 PM couple months in corgan time means well be lucky to see it by christmas.
Phoenix Down 03-10-2005, 01:02 PM it's not that we're impatient - he himself said March. Stupid asshole.
neopryn 03-10-2005, 01:05 PM anyone else interested in zbeast78's thoughts on this?

can your friend figure out which instruments were those? thanks.
workedupsodown 03-10-2005, 01:30 PM Yea, i'll see him tonight and ask what they were specifically. Yea, Chicago Music Exchange if your not familiar with, is a vintage guitar shop...They have a lot of expensive equipment.
The guitars he bought were part of the owners personal collection. I guess not that personal when your Corgan and can drop coin like that with out ah wink.
Spaldz 03-10-2005, 01:37 PM I hope he eventually runs out of money and is forced to bloody released something. Damn you money. You're as bad as Graham Norton..
Liquid-J 03-10-2005, 01:41 PM i want to punch Bill on his arm, as hard as i can, and then tell him to release stuff or he's getting another punch just like that last one. it smarts, don't it, Bill? don't it?
Axl Rose 03-10-2005, 01:44 PM a couple of months could easily mean 13 years, or at least it does in the case of Chinese Democracy, know what I'm sayin?!:D
SpFission 03-10-2005, 02:48 PM If the album is released in couple of months, two weeks ago, it is still Spring so chilll..the fuck...out.

Is it up north on Clarke St. or close to it? I remember visting some vintage music store when I was there for the last shows in 2000, I think it was up that way, maybe not on Clarke St but close to it and certainly in that area of town.... I remember they had an insrument there that looked exactly like the thing Darcy was playing in the Tonght Tonight video....

I don't know the exact intersection, but yeah, it's on Clark between Belmont and Addison. It's a store where when I walk by it, I always gawk in the window. Some really beautiful guitars in there.
Woody 03-10-2005, 05:26 PM You guys haven't heard the news about the album yet?

TiaraGurl 03-10-2005, 08:04 PM I think it will come out in the fall it seems like the release schedule is already pretty full for most of the year. maybe someone at warners will decide billy needs to be released on super tuesday.
J-dog 03-10-2005, 09:37 PM if you punch him in the arm, maybe he wont release the album at all. then we will all be forced to just be content with the 4-19-04 boot and recording sessions tidbits. now do you all want that?

you can do better than that. try harder.
workedupsodown 03-11-2005, 08:52 AM I talked to my friend last night...Corgan bought two Rickenbacker Basses.
Cherub Angel 03-11-2005, 08:55 AM vintage? how old?
workedupsodown 03-11-2005, 12:01 PM Not sure of the exact year somewhere in the late 60's early 70's...I know it's soemwhere around there
Cherub Angel 03-11-2005, 12:21 PM very nice :)
