I've just updated my Windows 98 to XP, and now I cant seem to get the same reading speed when using EAC.
With Win 98 I was able to read x25(burst)/x11(secure).
With XP I only get a speed of x15(burst)/x6(secure)

I know it's still okay with those new reading speeds, but it just bothers me. I've tried experimenting with the reading modes, as well as setting the reading speed to various values

Any ideas would be appreciated

You should never use burst mode (except for certain cases with messed up discs). I usually get only 4x-6x when ripping for some reason. Last week I was getting 13x on one cd though. Use the settings listed for your drive in this database: http://www.ping.be/satcp/eacoffsets01.htm#-

I never use burst-mode for trading, only when I burn copies of various discs/albums for friends or myself.
