View Full Version : man, I feel guilty about my true reaction to blinking with fists...
i wanted to love it, or at least anticipated a promising exciting stab in the dark for bolly but christ, it is terrible cod-gothic, cod-mystical garbage, offensively bad in fact. the lyrics to blank page have more worth than the entire collection.
Phoenix Down 02-01-2005, 08:06 PM do i hear disrespect towards the blank page lyrics?
Fathoms 02-01-2005, 08:42 PM Some of the poems are fun to read at least. A Twixt the Twine, ha ha, rolls off the brain. Overall this is only the type of stuff thats supposed to get released post mortem.
Annie Dog 02-01-2005, 10:33 PM some of the poems i like. but either way, when i first read it all i saw was "yelena yelena yelena"
spacey raygun 02-01-2005, 10:33 PM the archaic meaning of cod is scrotum.
redbreegull 02-01-2005, 10:59 PM If the dream is gone
Good! Then let it die
I'd rather tumble from my window
To ground wet and hard with rain
Knowing you were waiting for me.
I don't understand how anyone can dislike the book, its just like reading SP lyrics. Well, almost. The feel is different, but its still the same old Billy style writing.

Spaceboy88 02-02-2005, 09:58 AM I don't feel guilty. Billy the musician is what I love, not Billy the poet.
His instrumentals have better lyrics than any poem in BWF.
Phoenix Down 02-02-2005, 10:05 AM instrumentals don't feature lyrics
pumpkingrrrl 02-02-2005, 11:43 AM There are only a few selected poems that I like...the rest is shit.

I'll drop 5 buck on it, only for the completist / collector in me.

maybe I'm just not arty enough
The Omega Concern 02-03-2005, 09:33 PM I read "years of grace" several times and it was as if with each reading the unfolding of the message in the poem became clearer and more profound.
it's a difficult poem to read and decipher...but, i sense a broad scope of perception within the poem. truly fascinating.
