View Full Version : Cellphone in theater story
KingJeremy 01-29-2005, 05:12 PM I was at the movies last night and seeing Finding Neverland for the second time when some woman's cellphone started ringing directly in front of me. I hate it when this happens in the theater. I think it's my number one pet peeve. Of course she proceeds to answer it, but instead of telling the person on the other end that she was in a movie, she keeps on talking and talking. I was getting pretty fed up with her doing this so I took the gum out of my mouth and tossed it into the back of her hair. She turned around and gave me a dirty look but didn't feel the back of her hair to see what she had been hit with. I guess she must have thought that it was popcorn or something. She finally got off the phone a minute or so later and the movie ended without her finding out that she had a big wad of gum in her hair.

BeautifulLoser 01-29-2005, 11:15 PM Awesome. I fucking hate those people.
When I went to go see The Life Aquatic with some friends of mine, these little douchebag kids were sitting behind us, throwing things and talking the whole time. My friend John got up and told them to leave... one of the kids pushed him, so John dumped his coke on his head, picked him up, and literally carried him out of the theater. Then he told the manager that the kids ruined the movie, and we all got our money back.
I <3 John. He does things I'm scared to do.

MeAndMyLlama 01-30-2005, 01:30 AM funny movie story
i was seeing batman and robin with some friends. this must have been like 8 years ago. the movie sucked so my friends and i were acting like dicks the whole movie just talking and laughing and shit. at one scene there was a closeup of robin talking and my friend stood up and shouted FAG! so the whole theater could hear. we were kicked out of the movie with no refund.

dont act like pricks if you dont like the movie.
with the price of seeing movies being pretty high, i don't understand why people have to ruin it (cellphones, being loud, ect).

Yeah, you don't see that kind of stuff happening at the opera. But it would be hilarious if you would.
alexthestampede 01-30-2005, 02:34 AM you are trapped in a theater with idiots because you go and see movies that idiots go and see because you have awful taste GGTHX

Some of them are really nice. I'm not a buff or someone that goes to see them all that often (hardly ever, so expensive), but if there's a good musical score (Wagner, Mozart) then the show can be entertaining as hell, even if you don't know what the hell is going on.
I just like it, 'cause I'm sitting there going, "Weeeee! They're dancing funny!" And the music kicks ass too. :p
i might have to check local listings, save up, and go.

Sapphire 01-30-2005, 03:57 AM If you're sincere about it, I would get my hands on the music they'll be playing first to see if you like it. Fifty some odd dollars is a lot to pay for an experiment.

i guess i wouldn't mind seeing Phantom of the Opera or Jesus Christ Superstar (i know, cliche').
i've heard quite a few songs from each.
severin 01-30-2005, 07:34 AM people having their phones turned on in movie theatres are bad, but if they turn it off quickly i can live with it.
people who actually take the call and talk on the phone during a movie deserve absuletly everything any of the other patrons does to them...so, a job well done by you.
tootsie 01-30-2005, 07:59 AM eric has a new policy where he speaks to the person who is talking on the phone...
ie
*cell rings*
person: hello?
eric: hey there!
person: when are you coming over?
eric: oh, after i get my nails done.
its great.

That's not funny, that fucking sucks. Granted, the movie did suck, but just because you thought it did doesn't give you the right to ruin it for everyone else.
I hope someone beats your ass in the theater for doing that one day.

My favorite ever was:
*ringring*
person on phone: "Hey, this is Bob"
random person: "SHUT THE FUCK UP, BOB!"

musicals =/= opera
I've never been to the opera. I doubt I'd be able to appreciate it.
