Hi,

during the 90s and very early 00s i relentlessly followed and collected smashing pumpkins and zwan. Regretfully i was forced to sell my collection in its entirity when confronted with some sudden large bills. I have always regretted having to do this and over the last 18months have begun trying to rebuild my collection. i have now gotten back to a position where i once again am only missing 20-25items off the official discog and would desperately like to replace the most prized items that i had to sell.

one of my biggest regreats was having to sell my copies of the original demo tapes as well as my rhino 7" promo which was actually my favourite item of them all.
as such, despite realising what a long shot it is, i am asking if anyone has or knows of people with the following items they wish to sell.

i had three demo tapes, (excluding LID)

one was TSP with the red j-card (which i bought from Dave A)
one was moon,

the third was a tape with 7 of the 9tracks from eye on it, which i also call the gish radio promo as i was also told that eye dosent actually exist. (this was obtained from a chicago radio station and was confirmed as authentic)
whatever it was it was cool. i still have the scans actually. i could post them.

what would you be looking to part with?

unfortunately so as ive managed to get back pretty much everything you can get through cd fayres, record stores etc...so now comes the hard to find stuff. i accept its a long shot as it took me a good while and a lot of effort to get these items the first time around.

ive been stung by ebay a lot in the past so i try and avoid it if possible....still needs must when the devil drives;)

i posted copies on here about a year ago when someone was trying to hock fakes on ebay and this message board. also posted scans of my copie of the gish booking/radio tape then as well if anyone remembers.

That's kind of odd. Your number is right, but that's not what the receipt says. Mike Po told me there were two test pressings, he had one and Billy had the other (which had a ragstock cover). The receipt indicates there was only one test made.

I know Mike had one, because I held it in my hand. I tried to get him to sell it to me for $1000 cash on the spot, but he turned me down...

also did anything ever happen about that guy, he tried to tell me he'd already sold two copies of the 'legit' tapes already. i still have all his emails printed off as i wrote a big article about rare record/memrobilia for a magazine at the time using that case as the example.

he did indeed. but i have new scans to get out.

I was quite close to buying the I Am One original reel-to-reel tape that Mike Po had. We were about to make the deal, then he backed out at the last minute saying he had been advised by legal people to not sell it.

He posted a pic of it on his website for me and although I still have the site he posted it too, it is not there anymore.

my greatest ever steal was a test press of cherub rock for £3 in an old record store in leicester. you had to walk through a wedding shop to get there, but it was a goldmine!!

I have had made some great finds like the Daughter flexi raygun got and your CR test press. I got a sealed PI with 7" (#666 which is kind of cool with the Billy shirt connection) for 2 bucks. I also got my peach Rocket for 3 bucks.

i have a promo video done for hut records by a company called west1 television and i wondered if anyone had any further info on it?

the tracklist is
siva + Rhinoceros
the date is 03/06/93
and the record(serial) number is 45978

All i know is that it was comissioned by hut to accompany the remastered gish release. but id love to know what the pressing details were are there 10s 100s 1000s etc relative value etc.

any info and help from video heads much obliged.

if so, i sold them to Dean about a year ago for 1600 bucks,and i doubt he will part with them concidering its the only set not destroyed.



i have 2 of the LID promo cassettes i will sell one of them if interested.

i just sold my rhino/siva 7" to alisonmonster.

no it was a pressing of lull in a hut industry standard sleeve with promo copy sticker on it. bought from a dj and sold 3 years ago.

I purchased a copy of TSP demo tape - pink j-card, one of the one's with billy's handwriting, about 5-8 years ago from d4. Apparently it belonged to a friend of the band who used to take photo's.

I may be willing to part with it, for the right price.

All I can say is that I know who has it, and he paid far more than $1000. Mike Po did a private auction for it after it didn't reach reserve on ebay.

I use to have a more recent scan of the receipt which has B0lly's and James sig on it now.
