what are you doing?
tell us about your day
ask us a question

this is a good way for me to sneak my question into a thread not about me!

i'm watching the drew carey show and playing online.

Went to class, after class went to target and petsmart (is t Pets Mart, or Pet Smart!?) with a friends. got sub sammiches, and tried those new chip-shaped chocolates, like pringles, you know? they're good. I also bought a pleco to replace the snail that died.

my legs are sore from running yesterday. I was to go running today.. with that make my legs more sore, or help make the sore go away?

i've had a weird day. went to practice, we werent on the water for some reason because we were getting drug tested so i used that as an excuse not to go to the chiropractor. took a nap, got up and went to class and realized that i re-made my appointment for a time in the middle of class. got out of class, my mom called and told me my grandma died. came home and collected myself a bit. got a sandwich and kinda went back to sleep. my best friend called me and i felt better. sent my mom some flowers and went to eat dinner. now im just kinda...eh.

I'm sitting at work. I just finished typing up a 6 page shared bibliography for the documentary I've been doing research on...I've spent most of my day in special collections at the library. I came across a scrapbook/memoir from the 1920's that had stuff from the 1850's-1920's *******d...it was really really cool to sit there and touch all these things and read about someone else's life growing up in Memphis.

oh. and I don't have any questions, do you?

I am avoiding doing work, nursing a headache, and looking for monologues and recipes.

Today was pretty good! I got a 10 out of 10 on my Tartuffe scene and a B+/B on my Shakespeare term paper, which is great. And I got the head count on my dinner party. And I think I found a great monologue.

Are you just starting to run? Probably you should only go every other day if you are just starting, but I don't know a whole lot about it. My sister fucked up her knees very quickly by starting an insane running regimen without any kind of build up.

My question: What is a good vegetarian AND cheese-free appetizer for a dinner party? I need a second dessert too. Please help.

your leg soreness is sort of an indicator that they're in need of 'repair'. working out usually involves making millions of little tears in your muscle tissue by doing more with them then they're used to. they then go on to repair themselves so that they're stronger for 'next time'. it takes about a day or two for that repair to take place, depending on how used to working out your muscles are, how much rest you're getting, and how you're eating. the 'soreness' usually peaks 24-48 hours after you work out.

so if you want to let your muscles repair themselves, maybe give them a rest for the next few days until the soreness peaks and goes away. then they'll be all ready to go for the next time.

plenty of people go running more than every other day. if you want to do that, go ahead and go running again. you might end up being even sorer within the next few days, but in the long run your muscles will rebuild themselves to handle a consecutive-days running schedule. either way, the more regularly you start working out (regardless of wether you alternate days on/off or go every day), the soreness you'll have afterward will get less noticeable and acute. did that make any sense?

I was going to buy hummus. I suppose that's enough. Bitch didn't email me her dietary needs when I asked anyway. I'm already separating some of the pasta out for her.

I'm writing an email to my cousin, and I really have no inspiration. I'm listening to a bootleg of the UC show, and I'll probably play some scrabble online, procrastinating writing a paper...

My day was pretty good... on Tuesdays I volunteer at a French Immersion school, working with grade 5 kids. After that I went to the gym, I'm taking a class called 'Core Conditioning', and I like it a lot - lots of stretching. I went grocery shopping after, got home, had dinner....and here I am...

Question for ammy: who's Molly? (dog, I assume...) what kind of dog?

I slept like shit last night.
Woke up at 8 am, drove to Dallas and got stuck in traffic
Sat in court rooms all day for a project
Bought Secret-Santa gift
Got home just in time for the Gilmore Girls
Did the dishes for the first time in... too long

I am currently talking to my boyfriend who's stuck in the Chicago airport because of the fucking weather, and I'm putting off doing the rest of the project I started today.

My Question: Do you think the snow'll let up and he can get out of Chicago tonight?
