...is pretty good. i'm about halfway through disc 2, and there's a lot of great stuff here. i know there was slight uproar or whatever in the nirvana fan community because of a lack of true "unreleased" material, but as a total nirvana rarities n00b, it's a nice collection.

there's a solo acoustic recording of 'where did you sleep last night' from 1989 that's fucking amazing.

ooh, and the cover is all shiny and metal!

edit: holy shit, 'do re mi'....

edit: check the bottom for a couple links

So far the only complete tracks I have heard are Lithium solo and YKYR solo and I have the trailer. I was not that impressed with the solo tracks. I am really looking forward to Old Age. The best thing about this set is that it is basicly upgrades of all the stuff floating around. I will elaborate more after I get it.

If anyone is wondering, Best Buy seems to have the best price on it. It is atleast 10 dollars cheaper there than circuit city and amazon.... I ordered it lastnite. So, where's the torrent :) I want to hear this acoustic demo of serve the servants!

Anyone have a price listing for this yet at various stores?
Or is it entirely uploaded somewhere on the net?

Amazon.com has it for $53.99 and Best Buy has it for $39.99. I haven't seen it anywhere else yet, wait until the ads come out on Sunday.

And yes, it appears to be on soulseek.

This content of this isn't terribly impressive.

meh.

not very good performances, and the quality of the recordings is crappier than Because You Are.

There are like 7 awesome songs . . . out of 60.

Beans fucking blew my mind lol

i like how alot of the previously released b-sides that are *******d here are different mixes/takes.

I DON'T like the "louder is better" sound the songs have :/

it was cool to finally hear a studio version of Verse Chorus Verse (or what used to be known as "in his hands")

overall i like it
but one thing that bugs me is the missing talking before the performance of 'opinion' on disc2.
i think they should have left that in from the broadcast.

also seeing some stuff in the book made me wonder what some of the stuff was from the studio sessions. i'm wondering about the 'big me' listed in the same studio session with 'you know you're right'.

Some of the recording quality could be better, but the dude is dead, so there isnt anything anyone can do, so we'll just deal with it :) What's up witht he 'fragment' or serve the servants and a few others? About big me, that is interesting. I don't have the box yet, what else was recorded? I thought that was when Dave also recorded Exhausted on Gas Chamber for the first time... This is interesting stuff. I wonder if these were technically 'Nirvana' songs and if Nirvana would have played them.

verse chorus verse could totally be remixed to a single (should they want one for a box set).

Oh and the I hate myself and want to die demo/outtake is awesome. I like it mroe than the one released !

i never really understood why they never released that song.
was there a studio version that had surfaced before this? all i remember ever hearing before were old live versions.

I was obsessed with Nirvana rarities for a number of years and as far as I know the studio version of this song has never surfaced unless it happened within the last year or two.
