View Full Version : EAC differing samples

I have setup EAC with what I believe to be correct offsets.

I have tested this by taking a show, burning the wavs to disc and then ripping the files and using the compare WAV tool.

All the tracks match exactly apart from the last track that has about 0.2 seconds of differing samples right at the end.

I realise that this is not very much and not really noticeable, but I would like to get an exact copy.

I use _NEC CD-RW NR-9100A to burn with a write offset of + 6.
And SAMSUNG DVD-ROM SD-616T to rip the files with a read offset of + 1182.

I hope I've given enough information.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

I had another thought, maybe your drive is not able to read into the leadin or leadout, have you tested for that?

Yeah that's probably the problem. Thanks.

I guess it can't read into the lead out, just the pregap. So there's nothing I can do about it except get a different drive, which would be quite extreme for just a few milliseconds. :(

I think my Plextor can read into the lead in/out but I recall having that problem before too. Not sure.

There was also a bug in EAC that would do this, not sure if it has been fixed yet or not.
