something tells me this record is either gonna be shit and spell the end of billy's career, or it will be fantastic and on par with mellon collie. i have a hunch that the music will be very sparse and atmospheric, with chuggy little riffs thrown around...like whirring machinery in the fog. or something. 10 bux says so.

I reckon all the songs will be drawn out with a few guitar picking and noises. Sort of like To Sheila..

I don't know..sounds like it might drag on..and might not have enough backing behind it..

We could be totally wrong though and it could be a masterpiece. I hope so, but Billy's disappointed me over the last few years with what he's done. If it sounds like the stuff he did on Spun though I would be mighty impressed as his voice was beautiful in that.

Only time will tell.

I have high hopes for this album.

When's it coming out?

... as long as I like it!

I'm thinking it will sound like the love-child of these five songs:

To Sheila
Clones(Cover/TAFH boxset)
Saturnine(Adore era/Judas O version)
Identify
Once Upon a Time

Meaning, it will have the atmospheric, slightly-electronic sound of To Sheila and Saturnine, mixed with the electronic/rock of Clones, mixed with the composition quality of Identify, mixed with the hopelessly sad yet still trying to be happy lyric focus of Once Upon a Time.

I'm thinking this album will fare about as well as Zwan, but that the second album he comes out with will be way good. I think he'll get hooked, again, on doing everything himself, and maybe(hopefully) come out with an Adore part 2.

it wont be any more financially successful than this post-MCIS stuff, and i doubt any of his future stuff will ever be. but i think MCIS and all the albums preceeding it were rather sophmoric in comparison to what he's doing now

with SP (and even zwan i guess) i think it was mainly a contemporary effort. this new album seems to be postmodern- a look at music as an evolving medium, a sneak peek at where it's going

I have a feeling its going to be pretty shitty. Judging from the Zwan album and his attitude toward his Zwan ex-bandmates, his main concern seems to be cracking the Top 40.

With the number of dipshits on this board who consider b0lly some kind of deity, that shouldn't be tough.

I dont think he will have anymore success's close to any of the pumpkins albums till it becomes classic rock & then i think he will be reborn to a new generation.

I voted failure, even if it's good it won't be successful. And I'm not so sure it'll be good with the way he's been describing, or not describing it. :erm

To bad thats not true at all, he did the album cause he says he still has alot more to express and he wont stop until he has nothing left to express, do you have any idea how much goddam money he has, probably making the top 40 isnt his biggest concern. He knows his days gone, he's just keeping us fans happy:DKeeping new work out there for us to enjoy.
