I'm running out of space...theres no cd holder big enough for what I have--even though most of you have TONS more than I do. Is there any good suggestion of where I could put them and keep them in order by year? I was thinking of a shoe box, but I would need a dozen shoeboxes...plus it wouldn't keep them in order. So.....where do you guys keep your shows?

Why not just keep using those cd binders from Case Logic that hold 208 cd's each.

I have every disc in a separate sleeve and each sleeve has the date written on it. All the sleeves are stored in chronological order in three boxes that are meant for cd shipping. Each box fits 25 single cd cases, so you can fit a lot of sleeved cds in one box.

I keep 'em on the bookshelf, alphabetical by band and chronological within the band grouping.

For all of my commercial released cds that are in jewel cases, I have cd racks that are on the walls in my room...for all of my bootlegs and burned cds, I put them all into paper sleeves, label the cds and put the setlists on the back and everything, and keep them all in a big tupperware container.

I asked Fares how he was storing his, since I had almost filled up (2) 475 CD shelves at the time with commercial CDs, SP shows, and other bands' shows, and followed suit. I have all my SP in sleeves now, and a good portion of my non-SP in sleeves, but I need to get another 150 sleeve pack at CompUSA(only $20) to put the rest up.

I have 2 Fellowes cd towers that hold 84 (the ones w/ 5 shelfy things (not 84 slots) .. easier to keep organized that way). 1 for my official cds, the other for my Leona Naess/Ryan Adams cds (I have so many Rayn Adams shows http://www.netphoria.org/wwwboard/eek.gif ). And I have a cabinet that I pile in the rest of the cds... Hole/SP in the top/biggest drawer - bottom/second biggest drawer for miscellaneous bands.. actually, let's call it what it is.. a cabinet for dentistry.. that holds all the equipment.. whatever, it works perfectly, ha.

I really cannot stand cd sleeves for storage, I don't know why.. I use the thin cd single slim cases.

you use maxell cd-rs? or do you get maxell cd-rs...either way thats not good IMO. I don't like maxell cause, 1.they dont work in my burner well (they are skippy and choppy), 2.everytime you write on one it doesn't work, 3. they dont work in my cd player well.

okay ranting done. http://www.netphoria.org/wwwboard/tongue.gif

I'll probably just keep them on this HUGE bookshelf I have...the only problem is rearranging every other week or so, and fearing that someone might come into my room at night and take a chunk out of my collection. Anyways, thanks for the tips guys...and if mayfuck really keeps his cds in the dumpster, I'd say he's really not a good trader at all.....

CompUSA. $20 for 150 sleeves, at least, that's how much it is here.

Yeah that is about what it is up here. I would probally need to get three packs of those. To fit all my disc. ANouther Question. If you have a 2 disced show do you put both disc on one side, or just leave it as one disc per sleave..

Could you run a spell check before you post stuff?

It's your preference. For two disc shows, I naturally put one disc on each side. Three discs... damn, that gets confusing.

it saves ALOT of space if you put two disc shows in just one sleeve. I calculated it up...if I used an individual sleeve for EVERY disc I had, then it would take up close to 200. But, if I used the sleeves by show (putting two and three disc shows in one sleeve), it only took up half the space. That's just what I do though.

[paradoxically, the 264 storage book is a worse value than the 208 book]
