I download a lot a music to hear what this music is like. And If I enjoy it, It gets on my buy-list :)

when i've got the money I'd rather buy, but when you're broke you gotta do what you gotta do.

but if i'm not sure i download some tracks first. sometimes the whole album. sometimes i download the whole album and don't buy it afterwards.

i always buy. what can i say i just love those little booklets that come with the album :D

buy, I actually just bought two albums I already had burnt. Not because I think downloading is amoral, the real thing is just much better. The psychology of having the album in it's natural presentation also factors in.

mostly download now. I buy the cd if I like at least half the album.

it was either cds or dvds. dvds won.

Since I've had internet I've downloaded loads and loads of cd's. but i don't buy less music than before. 2-3 cd a month and generally 5 lp's.

the music I listen to the most I buy, although I download a LOT as well... you can judge for yourself... i own 300+ CDS and have 20+ gigs of mp3s.

I download more often, but only in lossless format so that makes me less lame. Also, almost none of the crap I download is stuff I'd ever think of buying. Sometimes I buy something even if I have it in lossless format. But not often.

i honestly have every smashing pumpkins/ smiths song ever made on my computer (thank god for emule and archives and other peoples zeal!) as well as a million other songs from all different genres.
i only buy smashing pumpkins/zwan/billy corgan albums for the same reason that i buy any really good book that im going to read and dont just check it out, its nice to have a hardback copy of a nice piece of art and its nice to know i helped pay for billy's sweet new pad

I mostly buy but my sister has also burnt copies of CDs she bought herself for me too.

I always buy. I downloaded a lot of stuff back in the Napster days but that's it. Basically the only things I spend money on besides rent and various other bills is music and saving up for trips. That means I buy a shitload of music.

i only buy, i haven't downloaded a song in months...oh wait, actually i have, but only because i wasn't able to rip the cd i bought at the time.

I sometimes download and if I like it, I buy it when I have the money. Although I think that since the rise of MP3's and such, I've only bought more music than I ever did before. Probably because most shops are having these huge discounts which consists mostly of music released in 1985- 1999. Which gives me the chance to grab those gems for a decent price.

I have bought 99.999% of the music I own.

I believe I have two or possibly three burned copies of an album which I have never purchased.

Mp3s are a great way to preview before you buy.
I used to buy albums after hearing only a couple or even no songs on it and it ended up being a waste of money sometimes.

I used to buy all my music.

Now... i dont... But i go to lots of gigs and buy local bands CD's.

I don't download as much as I could and I usually buy it if I like it enough, especially if they're a relatively new or local band. I'd say I buy 90% of it on average, unless I'm really poor that week.

that's still awesome! i only have 100 or something!

sometimes i pre-listen to an album on mp3, but mostly i buy it afterwards (if it'S good) about 80% is bought stuff from my CDs, and i got around 350 CDs

and sometimes you only get weird stuff/remixes by downloading it :erm
