I got $300 from my grandfather for my birthday (Sept. 8th). (The card with the money came in the mail yesterday.) What should I do with the money?

Eh. I rarely take pictures...usually just concerts and maybe while on vacation. So, I was thinking I would just get another APS camera (the one I have I got in 1996 and pretty much no longer works). I checked overstock.com and most were half off their regular price. So, I went ahead and got one of those for about $45. And now I can get the coat too. But, I am also tempted to wait until after going to SF in case I find a coat in one of the stores there that I like better or something.

No. My grandfather has strict rules about that. That money is meant to be used for something that I really want. I am not allowed to use it for paying my bills or anything like that.

yeah but it is your money now.

i never said pay bills...but why do you have to spend it now? save it cos you never know.

but then again..that's me.

i already have 3,000 saved up. :/ including present money, and portions of each weekly paycheck. i have really resisted the urge to buy stuff but it's paying off.

Yeah, I went ahead and got a camera from overstock.com.

i got that coat a month ago. its nice but i'm not sure it will be cold enough in seattle to wear it. its also my third green coat. its also the cost of furniture i want. its going back.
