Thought that I would share with you my start of Sunday morning! At approx. 6:20am I get this page, the all page code for the heart room. Cannot get ahold of the PCC as her line is busy-We always call when they page to see what is up and what we can anticipate for the call back. Still getting busy signal which is strange after 5 mins. Well, all the oncall for the heart room shows up and there stands the PCC for the morning and 4 STRANGE men to whom none of us know. We are told to dress down and go to the heart room.

We are all thinking and chatting while we get dressed and scurry off to the CVOR. Once in there we find out that these men are Secret Service guys! We are talked to in great length about everything from security, privacy and what all of our parts are in the room. This is because Vice President Dick Cheney will be here tomorrow (Monday) in the Tri Cities! And if anything goes wrong with his heart, he will be at Kadlec as we have the only heart program next to Spoakne. And the odd thing is is that we always have a heart case on MOnday but because of his stop here, the CVOR has to be open and available if needed for him!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now how fucking weird is this? Every time Cheney leaves the white house do they have to stop and make sure he can have heart surgery in whatever city he goes to? is he really that fragile that he's going to keel over at any given moment?

Yep, typical. Advance like that is done for everything everywhere for both the Pres and VP. They have to be prepared for any and every little possible thing.

I don't mind those expenses. No matter who is in office, the health and security of the President, VP, cabinet officials, etc is highly important.
