saw a programme last night about ghosts caught on camera, meant to be the most scariest that has been filmed. the ones they showed weren't that good. some of the things could've been anything and not paranormal as they thought they were.

My brother claims he saw a ghost once. An old man in a robe was in our closet telling him to get teh fuck out.

with the spirit medium's who talk to the ghosts, they ask them,do they know where they are, when they are in a person's body etc, how comes the spirit's don't say where they have gone to and who the people asking the questions are etc? it's crazy that it seems to be a one way thing.if they can communicate with us, then i would've thought that they be asking us questions as well and sharing their experiences in the other world!

theres a very old house near me, with a bloke who's probably a ghost himself, he only comes out at night. legend has it that the house is haunted and the spirits have told him that he can only go out at night. seems bullshit to me, need to get the man from most haunted on to it.

i dunno about ghosts. but sometimes i think asian film actors are secretly the undead.

true story:

my freshman year of college my friends and i found a website which lists various supposed haunted locations in new england. one of which was actually featured on that mtv show FEAR a few years ago. it's a huge complex that used to be a mental asylum notorious for the abuse, torture and murder of patients. a real creepy place. the kind of place that takes a long time to shake out the bad feelings you leave with.

anyway, we ended up making casual friends with the thursday night security guard, and he would tell us ways to get into the buildings (as he couldn't actually let us in- he could give us the guarantee that he wouldn't call the cops). we made it into most of the buildings, and even into the morgue (which was useless because the mtv crew left it a mess- fake blood everywhere and such).

one night, maybe our third time there, we broke into the building that was designated for "high security". it resembled a prison. tiny cells, the beds and mattresses still in them, the paint peeling off the walls in huge sheets, the smell of disinfectant. all of the rooms were dusty, rusty furniture, peeling paint, scuffed floors. all of the rooms except one. when i tell you it was spotless, i'm not joking you- it was eerie.

at the time, my friends and i were looking to start a paranormal research group (funded through our college) and so we had certain protocol to follow. my job (along with the job of my friend andrea) was to basically "feel" places out. she and i would walk around (i guess as the token pagans we were appointed to do this) until we got...i guess the only way to describe the feeling would be an unexplained adrenaline rush, then we'd allert the team via radio.

in this one room, adjacent to the clean cell, there were a number of bathtubs and old broken electrical units with wires hanging out of it. we surmised this room was once used for the primitive shock treatments issued by "doctors". this room was... terrifying. like, as hokey as this sounds- i'm pretty sure an athiest would be afraid of being in there.

as useual, we set up the microphones (one in each corner of the room and one in the center) and we set up two video cameras on tripods. everyone left the room for a timed period of ten minutes. during this time, we would call a "blackout", our radios, flashlights, cell phones, beepers, etc, etc, etc were turned off, we were barred from speaking, smoking, or interfeering.

nothing happened.

but we got out of there really fast. everyone just started getting a creepy feeling that we weren't wanted there anymore, and none of us wanted to question it. i actually got my first (and only)speeding ticket that night...trying to get as far away from that place as possible.

the next day, my friend stephan (the wealthy one who actually owned the cool digital equipment) called me into the video lab, and showed me the tape of what happened while we were out of the room...and i swear to you i wouldn't fucking believe it if it hadn't been on every camcorder and every mic.

the first minute, was still-blackness. then out of nowhere on all four mics there was a rumble-sound that really truely sounded like a growl. it repeated itself. now, he made the sound digital- and it had no actual location (meaning that it was recorded no louder on any one of the mics, it had no origin). the sound occured several times during the 10 minutes. there were also these lights that appeared (mind you, this room was windowless). i guess the only way to describe the lights was... pure white (not yellow-y like flashlights) and even (meaning that there was no epicenter of light like flashlights or candles) it kindof looked like lighted bubbles that wouldn't move, until the very end where they'd make strange sudden movements.

and then there was a knocking sound. loud, clangy like something on the porcelean tubs.

that was shortly before the end of the blackout...we never went back after the video. too creepy...we never found out exactly what it was that did that. but, the hairs on my arms are standing up as i type this....

On MTV's Fear, the place was called St. Agnes (in case anyone watched that show)...
