Jackson dangles baby off balcony
19.06PM GMT, 19 Nov 2002

Michael Jackson's shocked fans in Berlin after appearing to dangle a baby from a fifth floor hotel balcony.

The eccentric US pop star had been waving to his German fans when he disappeared back into his room and a few seconds later brought the baby - with a towel covering its head - out onto the veranda.

Holding the baby with one arm he then briefly dangled the infant over the balcony railing of the Adlon Hotel, before hurrying back into his room with the child.

It is not clear if the youngster was one of his own children, Prince or Paris.

There were gasps from the crowd of around 200 fans as it seemed at one stage as if the struggling baby was in danger of falling to the ground.

Jackson was holding the baby with only one hand because he seemed intent on keeping the towel covering its head.

Just inside the hotel room a woman wearing a nanny's uniform smiled and laughed as Jackson rushed the baby back inside.

His close friend Uri Geller didn't seem to believe what had happened. He told ITV News Channel "I was not there to see exactly what he had done, but I can tell you this - Michael is a very responsible father and it's just hard for me to believe that he dangled his son over the railing of his balcony."

"Michael loves his kids and he would never, ever do anything that could put them in danger."

He confirmed that Michael Jackson does have his children with him in Berlin, but said: "Maybe he was dangling come kind of a doll over the railing."

There was also trouble when the star arrived at the Adlon Hotel, which is near Berlin's famous Brandenburg Gate.

He had to fight his way through the crowd of fans to get from his car into the hotel. In the scrum at least one person was injured and a flower pot broken.

Jackson is said to be in Germany on a personal trip although it is thought he will attend the German premiere of the new James Bond Film 'Die Another Day'.

It is also rumoured that he may be given a Bambi lifetime achievement award from the German Burda Publishing house.

The company honours celebrities from the world of entertainment, literature, sports and politics.

They were talking about it on CNN and getting 'expert' opinions.

I think the conclusion they reached was that he's crazy.

from CNN:

BERLIN, Germany (Reuters) -- Singer Michael Jackson briefly dangled a barefoot baby over the railing of his fourth-floor hotel window on Tuesday, providing a momentary if odd thriller for fans waiting on Berlin's central square below.

The "King of Pop" arrived in the German capital after three days of testimony last week in California in a $21 million lawsuit by a German promoter over cancelled concerts.

A crowd of screaming fans greeted the reclusive entertainer, in town to receive a lifetime achievement award at a ceremony on Thursday night, in front of the Adlon Hotel.

When he got up to his room, Jackson opened his window and held a light-skinned baby, a white towel over the tot's head, briefly over the metal railing. He held the baby with one hand.

Jackson also showed off another child who was about four or five years old. The child, whose face was also covered in white, waved to the crowd below.

A spokeswoman said Jackson was travelling with his children.

Jackson has three children, two by ex-wife Debbie Rowe, five-year-old son Prince Michael and four-year-old daughter Paris. He also has a baby who is less than one year old.

Jackson arrived to the hotel wearing a white surgical mask over his mouth and nose, but later removed it.

Look at the position of the feet in the two photos. It doesn't appear to be a doll.

And with all that is going on the world right now, I can't believe that this is what CNN is choosing to cover.

Uri Geller? The phony psychic who embarrassed himself on Carson years ago(I saw a clip in a biology class for some weird reason).

Yes-Jacko is an unfit parent. I think this is his 3rd kid, no? Aren't his other two beyond infancy?

ummm how old is the baby? Maybe his (it is a he, right?) pigment hasn't started showing yet  . I really don't know much about it but it does take some time for pigments to start showing up.

All his children will have severe emotional and psychological problems when they get older, I'd bet they would probably try to kill themselves once they realize what freak he is and just being associated to a sicko like that is reason enough to off yourself.
