Why do certain Web sites not load (they time out) for me today?

Sites such as www.mandarinoriental.com and www.news-journal.com aren't loading. The newspaper is a part of a chain, Cox Newspapers, and none of their related sites are working.

They aren't loading in either Firefox or IE 6.0. Is it on my end or is my ISP experiencing problems you think?

It could be many things from your firewall to their end. Most likely, it's a DNS issue or a server between you two having problems.

Can you ping one of the sites and try the IP in your browser?

Try http://66.37.206.245 and http://64.210.243.20. If the problem is DNS that may be a workaround.

When I came back to check all that out, the sites are working again. Unlike most, I saved this info if this happens again. :)
