would you ever want to see this staring at you from your hard-earned $10? it's like they want to make it a punishment to earn more than $5 and less than $20.
sppunk 06-08-2004, 11:27 AM The U.S. should pull a Pound and Euro and get rid of the $1 bill. and make a $1 coin instead. And get rid of the damn penny already.

Mr. Rhinoceros 06-08-2004, 02:40 PM Hamilton should be on money since he was the first treasurer.
If there's anyone that shouldn't have their image on cash it would be U.S. Grant but he should be replaced by Martin Luther King Jr.

That will never happen. The black skin would clash with the green.

However, that would never happen since the hip hop community would be up in arms about losing the term "Benjamin."

Franklin wasn't a president.
Neither was Hamilton. Why should only presidents be on currency? Franklin was one of the greatest Americans ever.

Franklin was also a P.I.M.P. so it is only right he's on the C-Note.
Mr. Rhinoceros 06-09-2004, 02:06 PM I say Grant because he was a bad general that got lots of people killed because he had that luxury and little tactical skill and he was an even worse president.

Neither was Hamilton. True, but Hamilton was the first Sec. of the Tresury, and basically invented the National Bank single handedly. Thus money makes sense.

Grant was no worse than Andrew Jackson really. Both weren't extraordinary presidents so much as they were war heroes. I figure that winning the Civil War does enough to keep Grant on the fifty if winning the Battle of New Orleans (after the war of 1812 was over no less) keeps Jackson on the twenty.
Irrelevant 06-09-2004, 07:12 PM Sacajawea.
LoL.
Irrelevant 06-09-2004, 07:12 PM Susan B. Anthony.
sppunk 06-09-2004, 09:34 PM Barbara Jordon needs to be on money.
And, black people shouldn't be on anything higher than $100s, since they'll never see them.
HAHA JK DJFKDHFK
Irrelevant 06-09-2004, 10:03 PM they should put jay-z on the million dollar bill.
sawdust restaurants 06-18-2004, 04:36 PM yeah, brendan is right. grant should go. but jesus, don't put reagan there. mlk would be a great choice.

I think a case can be made for Jackson's skill as a president. There is no case to be made for Grant's presidency, which was wrought with scandal.
However, Jackson was the man who ordered the Cherokees to be relocated to Oklahoma, the Trail of Tears. He was a frightful bastard, no doubt about that.
jczeroman 06-21-2004, 09:20 AM Put thomas Jefferson on all our money with the quote:
"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not"

yeah all poor people are poor because they're lazy. fuck 'em.
jczeroman 06-21-2004, 10:03 AM And this one, which I wear on a t-shirt (:erm):
"The man who produces while others dispose of his product is a slave."
-- Ayn Rand
jczeroman 06-21-2004, 10:07 AM In fact, this whole freaking page is awesome and should be put on all our money:
http://www.valkyriearms.com/aynrand.htm
homechicago 06-21-2004, 10:37 AM just invent a new unit of currency. why be so dumb about it and bump someone off an existing unit? make a 15 dollar bill.
if life were fair, he'd only be on a million dollar bill. he wasn't about the 10 dollar people, he set up economic policies that fleeced the middle and lower class. he rewarded the rich, so only they should have the honor of his ugly mug on their hardly earned money.
jczeroman 06-21-2004, 10:45 AM tweedybird!

I admit, my comment was an ambiguous one. What I mean to say is that while Rand may think that people being forced to give to the poor are enslaved, it is also true that people are being enslaved to the wealthy by being paid a tiny fraction of what the owner makes.
I don't want to sound too Marxist, because I think that this is about as good as it gets and even a functioning socialism must have some kind of material reward for motivation. I just think that espousing such lofty maxims is rather...I dunno, unnecessary? My vocabulary fails me right now.
