I purchased that recently too!
The only mogwai I'm really missing now is the remix album, which I'm in no rush to get.
I just purchased a CD by this local band The Sourkeys yesterday. Wacky, heavy, yet good vocal melodies and harmonies. Really good live.
drtydog31 06-05-2004, 12:50 AM I am just starting to get into Mogwai. Which CD would you recommend I pick up next?
GoGadget 06-05-2004, 07:34 AM Primus - Frizzle Fry
Slint - Spiderland
Ween - The Mollusk
and MD's Drum Nation which is a great compilation of some of the best drummers around
and the only Mogwai cd i have is happy songs for happy people and its just alrite.
Egadsman 06-05-2004, 11:11 AM Tom Waits - Big Time

Opinion on the MP+JJ disc?
I don't get it with snow patrol. Noone really cared for their previous albums, suddenly they're a semihype.
For me:
Liars/Oneida - Atheist, reconsider
Liars - They stuck us all in a trench (cd-r replacement)
Sunn0))) - 00 void (thank you sawdust)

I would say Rock Action first, no question.
and second either Young Team or Happy Songs For Happy People.

The MP + JJ CD is fucking AWESOME! Probably my favorite of the group. I really dig it a lot. And for $7.99, it was a great deal.
I picked up the Snow Patrol CD because I heard a song that I liked on there, and it was super cheap at the store, so I figured I'd go ahead and pick it up. If I didn't like it, I would immediately turn around and sell it on Half.com like I normally do. I still haven't decided if I will be doing that yet.

Cool thanks to you and azvd for the tip. I will definately grab this in my next batch.
The Gaddrow 06-07-2004, 03:29 AM And, when you pick up Rock Action, be sure to pick up the My Father, My King single as well.
Come On Die Young, Happy Songs, Young Team then Ten Rapid should be next in line.
Actually, I'm not sure if I would buy them in that order, but that's just the way it came out. But yeah, I think that would be a good order.
Just ordered the latest Corrs CD online. It comes out tomorrow.
drtydog31 06-07-2004, 10:51 PM Picked up Mogwai - Happy Songs today. I had a store credit and it was the only one they had. I will get Rock Action next.

Although, I have to admit I listen to it less than any other album of theirs (other than the remix album).
But, it is a HUGE part of what got me into Mogwai in the first place.

i got it back in the day and it put me off of Mogwai for years. it's pretty bad. however, Rock Action and My Father My King are very good, and most of their other stuff is decent.

It's a bonus track on Think Tank. Don't know if you have the cd, but you'll have to play the first track and then immediatly press rewind to about -6.42 minutes.
But be careful, the song has a very low volume level, so you'll have to turn up the volume on your amplifier. (and quickly turn down when Ambulance begins, otherwise you'll blow your speakers!)
I have a cd rip of the album and I guess the person didn't rip that song. I would buy it but the album isn't that great, a lot of it is weird. One time I tried to rip one of those tracks that comes before the first track and it was a pain in the ass.
Thanks for the info.

I have a rip but bought the special edition because I liked the packaging/artwork so much.
Yeah when you copy the cd it only takes ambulance. I noticed that itunes doesn't see that there's 6 more minutes before the song.
You can do it in EAC by doing a range rip or something. It took me a while to set it up.
Today I bought:
