View Full Version : From a liberal's perspective.
tweedyburd 05-22-2004, 12:28 AM You gotta admit it's pretty fucking crazy that the president of the United States is so tight with the Saudi royal family that he cannot or will not take the initiative to address or explain his unwavering committment to the largest funder of anti-American terrorism--not to mention its human rights abuses.
Debaser 05-22-2004, 01:28 AM So what is the conservative's perspective of this I wonder.
Nimrod's Son 05-22-2004, 07:46 AM Conservatives don't like it either.
Being a conservative doesn't mean blind faith in a Republican candidate.

are you a conservative? ... yes. But mainly fiscally, small government type, not the Christian right type.

Out of all the rhetorical techniques that Colin could have used to neutralize Rhino's provocative comment before it sprouted into another laborious round of bickering about conservatism vs. liberalism, he chose the most effective of all: a subtly subdued version of the "I hope you dieyousmellyturdnannynannybooboo!" technique.
Damn, you're good.

better tell the rest of the clan because anytime you see a conservative argue, it is nothing but blind faith in bush.

Use of the word "modicum" in everyday conversation makes my heart swell for you, much like the heated expansion of the early universe.
Love Jones 05-27-2004, 06:21 PM In a large way, supporters of Bush truly are on a blind faith kick, although I don't know if it stems from a place of spiritual and societal elitism, maniacal patriotism, or deafening ignorance.
At the same time, I can understand the point that there are elightened conservatives out there. However, if they comprised even a quarter instead of the likely 5-10% minorty of the conservative base as a whole, then I would suddenly find my own 'faith' in not only conservatives, but our country as a whole. As it stands, it's not even close.
