I could never really get used to them, until I heard Murray Street for the first time. Great record, I just bought it. Maybe I can slowly get into their other cd's now, Nurse and Dirty sound good as well.

if you want a visual j-rock band with appearance and music to boot, malice mizer is the way to go

I've had albums of his stuff for years, but it took until two days ago for me to listen to them (I'm like that with CDs sometimes). I already knew the guy was The Man, but damned if I ever really appreciated it. Now, I do. Oh, you bet I do.

That'll be a good purchase, but you should also try some of the earlier stuff. Again, timothy's monster and trust us are their best albums. They "rock" way harder than let them eat cake, phanerothyme and love cult.

Phanerothyme is 70ies inspired psychedelic pop music. Quality record.

Then again, I may have this wrong...

I'm too much of a Tr00 goth to listen to anything other than JD, early Bauhaus, DCD or Death In june. Anyway, goth pop like Siouxsie, Sisters of Mercy (only the Ep's), Fields of the Nephilim and the alikes are always good for a lighter listening.

When I discovered bauhaus, their resurection tour (98' after something like 15 years of the band's end) ended precisely here in Portugal with 2 concerts three months before. Now THAT was a missed opportunity.

Band: MUSE!
Album: Absolution

At the time I was just wondering the asiles of my local Virgin Megastore and then over the speakers comes this amazing song - "Stockholm Syndrome" I seriously never felt the need to ask the clerk who they were playing, but damn I bought the album there on the spot!

other bands...
Killing Joke - their "Nighttime" album is so great all around and there latest with Dave Grohl on drums also noteworthy.

The Stills
The Pillows - a j-rock band
The The
Kenna - Saw him open for Fischerspooner and blew me away, the first time I went to a concert and the opening band didn't suck plus his video for "Hell Bent" is too cool.
Rammstein - Now I've always been a fan since their second album came out but I just got a copy of their first album "Herzeleid" and it hasn't left my rotation its awesome
