The Omega Concern 05-13-2004, 02:32 PM Tool = modified APC
or, maybe that's the other way around. either way, im a bit over-saturated with each because of the other.
I_was_aborted 05-13-2004, 02:44 PM You are retarded. Besides having the same singer the music is totally different.
Quiet CD 05-13-2004, 03:42 PM I had no idea tool had any tour dates scheduled... or any reason to tour at the moment.
as much as i like tool, maynard is more $ hungry than billy c is... its hard to ignore, and he's as asshole too.

I like both bands a lot, but even I have to admit that the new APC sounded a lot like the quieter moments on Lateralus at times.

Ummm woah. Like what? Heh I don't see it at all....if anything the new APC album has a little cure type influence to it, something which Lateralus has none of. The drumming styles, guitar styles and the role the bass plays in the music is completely different for each band. Oh well.

I agree that there's a huge difference, except for the fact that there is an riff in the last song on 13th Crap (hahaHA!) that sounds exactly like Tool.

i had many buddies in that program that envied the fact that at OIART i had studio time specifically alloted to me each day or every other day, and they had to fight to sign up for 3am sessions, and have to get up for class the next morning.
has it changed much?

we didn't sign up, we got 3 hours scheduled time in the studio (outside of regular lab classes during the day) every 10 days... and this would happen anytime classes weren't scheduled. so from 5pm - 8am on weekdays and any time on weekends. we also get full access to the midi lab with many editing stations anytime class isn't happening, thats always open, you can use it as often as you'd like.
i'm sure OIART is a great school, but its also 19K for tuition, where fanshawe is $4700 for tuition and lab fees.
Starchildren 05-17-2004, 12:06 PM no doubt. we both left with the same degree.
