I realized tonight that this has probably been my favorite song for a long time now and I never knew it. It's so beautiful.

should have been "the ocean", which also probably has the best guitar riff ever

I always thought you were on the verge of being completely uncredible, but wow, I don't think you could have proved it more blatantly.
I can't narrow down my favorite song period, but one that ranks very highly is Leo Kottke's version of Tiny Island. Simple perfection.

Stone Temple Pilots - Interstate Love Song
I know there are many better songs. I'm not even a particularly huge STP fan. But for some unknown reason I've just been completely in love with this song ever since I first heard it. I couldn't even make out the lyrics for years. :p But one of the first albums I ever bought on my own was a vinyl copy of Purple, and I would just put it on my shitty old second-hand recordplayer, and lie on the floor of my room and listen to this track over and over and over again. It still gets me everytime.
Mayonaise, Drown, Where is My Mind, and a whole shload of Beatles songs are close seconds...

for me, its kinda a toss-up between Stairway to Heaven and Since I've Been Loving You by Led Zeppelin. its very hard for me to choose between both of those songs, but i'd probably pick Since I've Been Loving You barely over Stairway to Heaven.

oh...oh...my heart breaks just seeing the title. A couple of years ago I listened to this song for one whole summer, and it would've been a perfect candidate for that thread with what ruins good music for you. i think i'm healing from that breakup though, and i'll be able to listen to this again.
oh yeah, and i can't possibly choose one favourite song ever. i thought of john lennon - 'oh, my love' .... zeppelin 'baby i'm gonna leave you', cream - 'badge', too many pumpkins/radiohead to mention. oh well. can't pick one.
