yeah it's loaded. plays mini-type-discs that can hold 1GB+ or something. 4"x6" screen with a processor as powerful as a PSX I think. Definitely won't come cheap.

Any idea about the DS? And the specs of the DS? It doesn't look like that big a jump from the GBA....

which do you think will be better? I almost certainly have to go with PSP - I'm a big Sony fan - but DS thing could be cool, too. I can definitely see that playing an advantage in RPGs and such.

Nintendo really needs to take a lesson from Sega and stop the console warring for a while, back down, regroup and come up with good game titles. Go Sony for a while, the come back in a few years and try to reclaim their title.

nah. nintendo has said that the day they drop out of the hardware business is the day they drop out of the games business...which isn't likely to happen. there will always be enough people to buy nintendo's products. sure they don't sell gagillions like sony but they're still making plenty of money.

yeah you can never trust those figures. something is always changing in the industry to affect it. gc sales were up 40% when they dropped the price to 99. but now that sony and ms dropped their prices i'm sure their sales will go up too. but trust me they're making money. with how many millions of gba's sold?

sure they've sold a lot of GBAs, but let's face it, they don't have a lot of competition in that market. Now, with the PSP, I think they're really in trouble.

i definitely prefer gamecube over ps2.

PS2 has more cool games as far as I can tell. Plus my mod chip makes me play ps2 only. Til the next Zelda at least.

I like the cube controller but when I read things like SSX3 doesn't work well on cube due to lack of buttons.. that gives me a bad feeling. The cube controller may be designed to work fine with nintendo games, but they need to take third party multi platform stuff into account.

I own one too, but really, there's about ten enjoyable games on it, and half of them are Resident Evil. I'm still glad I bought it, but I'm speaking for the public at large; far more people are buying Xbox's or PS2's.

I am going to be purchasing both after I become finacially stable.

I can see the ds being extreamly cool. Unfortunatly last time I trusted Nintendo to make something cool they made the n64, cube and REG gba(no backlight?)

Sony has no put anything as shameful as the n64 out yet, so I'm gonna have to trust them on the PSP. Though, nothng is going to be stopping me from buy a DS if its backwards compatable like they say.
Edit: they reason I say cube is the lack of good 3rd party titles. 8.5 said it right, most of the games are Capcom(the res evils& VJoe) or Nintendo. Thatys simple not enough now. With Rare and Team Ninja ect ect ect pumping out some great titles, the only reason to own a gamecube is if you *love* all the titles on it.

What the fuck is wrong with N64 besides being cartridges and no mature games? I really enjoyed Waverace, Ocarina, Mario Kart, Banjo.. the graphics kicked ass at the time. Oh and also it had no voice. :(

there were only like 10 good titles for it. and they were all 60 bucks when they came out.

BTW dudes, I have Syphon Filter 4, it seems pretty awesome. The environments are so complex that I don't always know where the hell I'm going though. The map is in 3D and it's hard to tell what level you're on and where the hell you need to go. But that's okay because you're allowed to fail objectives and continue, so once I get the hang of it I can go back and finish those probably.

I really enjoyed Banjo. I got suck of Donkey Kong Country after not too long tho. I must have gotten at least half way. It was too 'open' where I wouldn't know where the hell I was supposed to go.

Rare have always made great games for Nintendo. Nintendo lost them. Thats my point.

The cube is suffering from the same thing the 64 did on a different level. Without, Capcom and rehashed storylines from past nintendo games, Nintendo is nothing. Not talking about the handheld market.
