While I'm very aware of the propagandist stance this clip takes, and narrator aside...I'm still seeing and hearing the results of some very bored men with tanks.

There's a difference between taking an evaluative tone and being "propagandist." It depends on the degree to which what one is saying diverges from truth. Judging as well as I can without having been there, I'd say that that clip was hardly propagandist.

You guys are veering off topic.

Crushing the car was a little harsh but this happened quite a while ago, during the actual war if my memory serves me well. I think it was quite a difficult time which often called for extreme measures. Also none of us know the circumstances surrounding the crushing of the car except the soldiers and iraqis who were there.

that was unreal.. these fucking idiot soldiers crushed this man's car for no good reason with a tank.. it ruined his livelihood because HE WAS A TAXI DRIVER. i don't even remember why they crushed it, but it was OBVIOUSLY completely unnecessary.... i can't believe how stupid some of these soldiers are.

I'd love to see how you react to being put in a situation where everyone around you hates you, people are trying to kill you all the time, everyone is a potential enemy and suicide bomber and all you have to protect you is your own gun, your platoon and a tank. I bet you would just fall down and cry. I can understand soldiers making a few decisions which we consider "wrong" or "stupid" because they are in a type of situation most of us can not even imagine.

Suffice to say there's no excuse for unprofessionalism in a time where money is something that absolutely cannot be thrown around. Traumatic or not, these people don't have to be enlisted in the military if they're going to make fruitless efforts to solve a much bigger problem than a couple of people stealing wood. Here in the US if we had done that, we'd get slapped on the wrist, get a talkin' to at the most, and sent home.
Simply put, we're making irresponsible people authority figures over a country that cannot afford to have such negligent derelicts going around being jerks to everyone.
It's bad enough most of my tax money goes towards cops.

People in the US military are for the most part jocks who want to kill people and blow up things legally and be praised for it when they return home
