<font color=#007AAA face="courier new">I love how these fuckups that were getting a laugh at the prison for Iraqi soldiers were "just following orders." It's like no one in the Army has individual will.

I'm sure most of them were happy about the orders to chain naked Iraqi prisoners together.
"This is fuckin hilarious man, when I get back to the states I'll have lots of great ideas to torture frat pledges!"
"Hey I had an idea, lets grab one of these guys, chain him to the bed and put panties over his head!"
"I love the army!"</font>

Yeah I know what you mean, I saw some spokesperson on tv yesterday saying (paraphrasing) "These soldiers didn't wake up and think "I am going to pile up some naked iraqis today" It came from somewhere higher up in the chain of command"

Bullshit. Maybe they didn't think it when they woke up, but they definitely thought it when they realised they had tons of blindfolded iraqis sitting around.

Yeah, but isn't that the point? You get squaddies questioning orders, and then where will we all be?

Imagine World War one - if people questioned authority, and actually reasoned "Hang on, charging across a muddy field at machine guns <i>may not be such a good idea after all</i>...

Of course, back then if you didn't go over the top, you were shot by a firing squad.
