I'm running 3miles a day, rowing 4km, and cutting my diet to rice, fruits&veggies, eggs, pasta, and water. I'm just under 120lbs and need to lose as much as I can. It's only for two weeks and I'll go back to my normal candy/pizza diet afterwards. any suggestions?

i think you're doing just about all you can do. get as much cardiovascular exercise as you can and cut calories as much as you can. I DESPISE the Atkins diet, but it has been found that people loose more weight consuming, say, 2000 calories of --meat only-- in a day than they do consuming 2000 calories of a healthy balance of foods, so doing awful atkins for 2 weeks and eating only lean meat may be a good bet if you're desperate. scientists have always said "a calorie is a calorie" but new studies show that that isn't entirely true.

good luck.

true but carbs help when you're doing so much cardio work. carbs arent bad at all. and I need them with the type of exercise i do. my metabolism is very fast and only speeds up when I work out like this. I really don't eat much meat anyway, I dont' like it. so not eating it is nothing to me. I had a powerbar for breakfast and I have a small rice cooker that I have never used and a fat tub of rice. I steal fruit from the caf and they often have pasta.

2 out of 3 meals of day: Special K cereal
Do this for 2 weeks: Lose 12 pounds.

<plus you might die from eating only special K, but I'm not a doctor, I dont know.>

yeah, i wouldn't do the all meat thing, but you sounded desparate and i was answering to that. i think what you're doing will be great. watch your salt intake, too.

really? Did you ever see those commercials for Special K, saying it's so heathly and junk.

They advertize saying, if you eat Special K 2 out of 3 meals, you lose 6 pounds a week.

The thing is, one serving of Special K is like 140 calories. It's puffed rice, so it has no fiber and doesn't really fill you up. It's kind of like eating air.

Are there any restrictions on the third meal? (besides the obvious)

i have to find something that fills me up but has no fat/calories whatsoever.

I guess the special K people assume you will get the nutrition from the milk.

It just has to be something healthy and lower in calories because the weight loss comes from the dramatic cut in calories.

I am going to try the diet but with a cereal like Total, which has probably 100 more calories a serving but has fiber and vitamins.

I don't think i could ever take that sort of thing. I understand why some people do, but I like the satisfaction of knowing that I dropped the weight the old fashioned way of eating less and exercising more. I guess it's a pride-type thing.

if you lose any more than 6lbs in two weeks, its muscle you are losing and you'll be weak as hell and it won't be much help as you'll be disgustingly flabby.

nice program (http://www.dietpower.com/)

at least 5lbs. I'll bet I could do ten but it wouldnt be good. I'm 5'7" so 110 that fast wouldn't be healthy
