View Full Version : Local Bands That Pride Themselves On Sounding Like Radiohead

I don't get it.

If the reason for your band is to sound like another band, shouldn't you really be killing yourself?

I mean, honestly now! I haven't heard one of my local bands that pride themselves on sounding like Radiohead get past step one in their career. And that step is pretty much getting together.

I mean, I love Radiohead. But I don't want another twenty bands to come out and sound like them. And luckily so far, none of them have entered into my limited mainstream scope of vision.

Don't get me wrong, I hate mainstream too. It's just that, I always have some small incling of what's going on there.

I'm just curious, do you have any bands in your area that pride themselves on being like Radiohead or other bands?

And don't you just hate the fuck out of them?

well, not Radiohead, but there's a lot of revival bands around here. I don't think it's necessarily wrong. you know, not everyone aspires to make it big, and if someone just enjoys good tunes and is willing to perform them for someone else, there's nothing wrong with that. As long as you acknowledge it's just for fun, it's OK. There's one local band doing LedZep revival, and their shows are always awesome.

All the local bands around here rip off Saves the Day. All of them.

Well, that, or they're hardcore.

I have only heard one good local band in years, but they broke up for some reason. They were liek RATM if the signer was a chick who sang as well as rapped.

Ok, so I guess it's like Audioslave if Cornell rapped.

Anyway, they kicked ass. All other local bands sound like Blink 182/Yellowcard/50,000 other bands that I can't tell the difference between.
