(and I do to)

speaking of italy and knowing stuff by heart, when in Rome, me and a friend of mine sang along to presidents I and II when drunk. Although drunk, we never missed a line all those 90 minutes.

I know the words pretty well. I'm not sure if I can sit here and sing it by myself but with the radio I can do the whole thing easily.

You're good as long as you know when to say LEONARD BERNSTEIN.

all i know by heart is:

uh oh this means no fear cavalier renegade steer clear
a tournament a tournament a tournament of lies
offer me solutions offer me alternatives and i decline!

and like the first three lines, + random lines throughout.

the video is perfect though!!
its so nice.

sigh, it makes me remember the mid 90s and how fucking amazing it was and how i was TOO YOUNG TO APPRECIATE IT.

the reason is that the DVD only covers their work on Warner Bros. Records... the video is on the Pop Screen DVD.

You're not an R.E.M. fan if you don't know the words by heart.

I love the performance on the new DVD. The way the crowd says "LEONARD BERNSTEIN" and "RIGHT!" is just too cool.

Yup, definitely one of my favorite moments on the new DVD. It reminded me of when I saw them on their tour in the fall. I know they do it at every show but it was nonetheless one of the highlights.

You means mid 80's?

This song and the rest of Document blows ass.

I definitely agree that Document is the band's weakest album, but I think this song and "The One I Love," as well as "Welcome to the Occupation," are some of R.E.M.'s better songs. And the video for "End of the World" is really great - so much more interesting and artistic than a lot of the bland performance videos most bands put out today.

Document isn't my favorite but it's by no means their worst.
