i disagree with most of what has been posted.
most of the girls i know can't dance for shit; i'm a guy, and i can dance pretty well.
i think if anything it might be because there are certain social restrictions but on men; men are suppose to be more stoic and dancing is seen as something that's femenine and the only guys who can dance are gay (which might be true because they're outside of this social pressure). there are exceptions, like break dancing and black culture doesn't seem to do the same thing to such an extreme to men.
mostly, guys just don't practice dancing or even try, so when they are put in situations where they have to it feels akward.
i don't know, that's just my theory.
