StillBecomingApart 11-07-2002, 05:57 AM Pink Floyd. OK Computer is a masterpiece, but "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn" is better :) INFECTED 11-07-2002, 06:04 AM both are very good bands... but floyd > radiohead House of Bread 11-07-2002, 08:26 AM Radiohead, even though it's almost impossible to compare the two Jesse Miller 11-07-2002, 11:03 AM Originally posted by MachinaMan Which one? ...Is more pretentious? I'd say Pink Floyd... Salena Child 11-07-2002, 12:45 PM pink floyd. but i do enjoy both of them. Nate the Grate 11-07-2002, 05:01 PM Pink Floyd ChristHimself! 11-07-2002, 05:06 PM Radiohead. Well from what I've heard.. PF didn't explore completely different sounds the way radiohead have.. although I'm sure someone will come along now and flame the arse off me for saying that. rubbersoul 11-07-2002, 05:18 PM Originally posted by ShotFullOfDiamonds Radiohead. You are right...Pink Floyd didn't bother ripping other people's styles off. Even so, I still listen to Radiohead more. I'd say they're more or less equally awesome but Radiohead I love, whereas Pink Floyd I merely admire. twice 11-07-2002, 11:34 PM YES! Crippler 11-07-2002, 11:47 PM <font color="aquamarine">Without a doubt, Radiohead. killtheyouth 11-07-2002, 11:59 PM radiohead, though i like them both. Ria 11-08-2002, 12:10 AM Pink Floyd Nothing/everything 11-08-2002, 05:38 AM Pink Floyd of course MstrGhost 11-08-2002, 06:03 AM king krimson>pink floyd > tool>radiohead sarmatianus 11-08-2002, 07:30 AM It's a close one, but Floyd - on virtue of the fact that they held their own pretty damn well for at least 12 years straight. I don't think Radiohead can claim any more than 7 (so far). I'll be impressed if Radiohead can stay above the water through 2007. Of course, it's a damn shallow reason, but given a dead heat, well... bloop 11-08-2002, 08:47 AM I like Radiohead more, but that is in no way intended to denegrate Pink Floyd. sawdust restaurants 11-08-2002, 01:58 PM Until Radiohead makes anything half as gratutious and as utterly awful as The Wall, they will always be a better band. patrick 11-08-2002, 03:44 PM Originally posted by sawdust restaurants Until Radiohead makes anything half as gratutious and as utterly awful as The Wall, they will always be a better band. i couldn't agree more however, i think everything through animals is great Enisled 11-08-2002, 04:02 PM 2 of my favorites. but definitely pink floyd. And I listen to Radiohead at a much greater frequency. Literally 50:1 or so. But I only have DSotM. :o FearFactory 11-09-2002, 04:47 AM Pink Floyd have got radiohead pinned to the ground and are continually bitch-slapping them - and all radiohead can do is whine about it. bloop 11-09-2002, 10:31 AM Originally posted by FearFactory Pink Floyd have got radiohead pinned to the ground and are continually bitch-slapping them - and all radiohead can do is whine about it. Pardon? What's that have to do with anything? Almost every band is more "masculine" than Radiohead, but I don't think Waters and company really dislike them. Waters said he didn't get "Amnesiac", but we're not talking about rivals here. I agree with the mods that most people were slagging off genres that actually have decent artists, so I suppose it needed to be closed. Ska still sucks, though.
