Ok Computer is screaming Radiohead right now, but I'm not sure....

Pink Floyd.

OK Computer is a masterpiece, but "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn" is better :)

Radiohead. Well from what I've heard.. PF didn't explore completely different sounds the way radiohead have.. although I'm sure someone will come along now and flame the arse off me for saying that.

You are right...Pink Floyd didn't bother ripping other people's styles off. Even so, I still listen to Radiohead more.

When it comes to decisions like this, I usually prefer the artist from my generation. I'd say they're more or less equally awesome but Radiohead I love, whereas Pink Floyd I merely admire.

It's a close one, but Floyd - on virtue of the fact that they held their own pretty damn well for at least 12 years straight. I don't think Radiohead can claim any more than 7 (so far). I'll be impressed if Radiohead can stay above the water through 2007.

Of course, it's a damn shallow reason, but given a dead heat, well...

I like Radiohead more, but that is in no way intended to denegrate Pink Floyd.

Until Radiohead makes anything half as gratutious and as utterly awful as The Wall, they will always be a better band.

I respect them both, but enjoy Radiohead a lot more.

Pardon? What's that have to do with anything? Almost every band is more "masculine" than Radiohead, but I don't think Waters and company really dislike them. Waters said he didn't get "Amnesiac", but we're not talking about rivals here.

totally agreed.

while i like radiohead, i think tool blows them out of the water... and as far PF, they make me sleepy.

btw, in my thread, it was I who told everyone to rate the topic one star...just kinda having fun with it. I agree with the mods that most people were slagging off genres that actually have decent artists, so I suppose it needed to be closed. Ska still sucks, though.
