Um, these go for $3.99. The ultimate stocking stuffer? I believe so. Oh, and let me say, the AT-ST is badass.

lego began going down the drain when they began using blocks and components that you couldn't really use in self-built stuff. and believe me, i was a great lego-fan, i had all the big stuff. the monorail, the programmable plotter and loads more

I agree with severin. Lego has gotten really gimmicky, and very American in the last few years. I mean, most of the stuff I see at Toys R Us today is really ugly and stupid looking. I wouldn't buy it for my kids, that's for damn sure. And that's a shame. I guess I'll have to go on e-bay and start buying older sets so I can save them for my future generations.
The Star Wars toys are pretty sweet though.

I totally agree with both of you. The juniorization of Lego in the last 5 years is really awful. Most of the system sets have horrible brick : price ratio.
However, I do think that the Star Wars license is pretty amazing. Many, many new pieces have been made to accomodade the complicated Star Wars models, but most are small and actually expand the library of usable and customizable pieces.
