what do you mean by new? aluminum group have been around a long time. and they're boring. so many better laptop pop groups.

the mountaineers are good.

but man, you like some boring bands.

uh. The Books, Lali Puna, Broadcast, Notwist, Mum, Max Tundra, Tujiko Noriko, Capitol K, Mu, Aarktica, Schneider TM, Ellen Allien, Hood, Guitar, AGF, Clue to Kalo, Matthew Dear, Piana, Russian Futurists...

they're all good electronic pop artists. some more out there than others.

i also highly recommend Cornelius' Fantasma and Point albums. i should get 69/96.

if you get into shibuya-kei, Buffalo Daughter, Pizzicato Five, Takako Minekawa are cool.

electronic pop artists.

it's hard to say where to draw the line between laptop and just electronic. most laptop artists use live instrumentation of some sort in addition to computer-generated textures.

hey ryan patrick what do you think of the swirlies

well broadcast probably used plenty of computers in the studio, and i bet they have enough electronics besides computers to be considered electronic.

the swirlies seem all right but i haven't went into them much beyond a few songs because they always get tagged as second rate shoegaze.
