I can't recommend this band live enough. Fantastic shows, even when you don't know any of the songs.

On a whim, I went down and taped the Dears here in Peterborough this summer. It was a really cool show in spite of the sound problems they were having.

as a matter of fact, i was. So was Aaron (autunmNOCTURNE). He regreted not taping it.
Apparently they're taking a break from touring locally for a bit, so it might a while till I see them again.

I saw them in london this past fall and they are one of those bands that is a million times better live than on CD. amazing shows.... they said they are going away for a while to reinvent themselves. so i hope this is a reinvention is in a direction that I like... and i also hope they don't go away for too long.

They came to my school last semester and all of about 30 people showed up. The fucking show cost $2 and barely anyone came. It was a fucking embaressment.
Regardless of that, the dears came out drugged up something wicked, and kicked ass for a solid 2 hours. Then they came out and played a double encore for us. The keyboard girls were rediculously high. One had her eyes closed for the entire show and barely moved.
It was awesome, but sad that no one went.

yeah, same thing at my school. $2, I got in for free cause i was early. It was a great show as well. I only recognized three songs, but it was still one of the best I saw that year.
And the keyboardist (one of them, the one who also plays the flute) is the hottest girl i've ever seen. She's worthe the price of admission alone.
