I thought they were phasing out the $100 instead of bringing in a new one. Same thing with the $50 in like 5 years.
But as for places not taking it, more business will start accepting them again because they are way harder to forge than the last bills.

that's nice and all, but it's going to take years to get the old bills out of circulation. even longer since no one takes them. unless places start taking ONLY the new bills...

I wouldn't put it past them to accept only new ones. There would also be more incentive for people to exchange their old bills for new ones if they can't use the old ones anywhere.

Stores don't accept the stupid $100 bill cause they're a pain in the ass to break when you're buying stuff. For stores that conduct most of their business with credit and debit cards, a $100 bill in the till at night is horrible.
