to those interested, this seems to be a fairly up to date, accurate list of confirmed/rumored acts for coachella 2004. i had heard about the pixies/radiohead for awhile now, but the cure recently confirmed for headlining sunday, which is awesome.

here's the link http://www-scf.usc.edu/~kwickman/coachella.html

And The Pixies > pretty much any other band who has played.

But I agree, if not for them, I probably wouldn't be so excited about coming down.

:noway:

Have you seen Robert Smith lately? He looks like Edward Scissorhands after a cheeseburger binge. Anyway, I couldn't give a shit less about Radiohead or the Cure, but mainly I'm referring to the "non-headliners." Last year and in previous years, the bottom of the list was so much better.

Yeah, I pretty much completely agree. I'm just having this mid-life crisis of sorts, of seeing bands before it's too late. The Cure and Bowie are high on the list, and the latter will be taken care of in seven days. Though I would have rather seen The Cure ten years ago (or even four) It will be nice to have actually seen them.

And yeah, the support acts pretty much blow this year. :-/

Don't discourage me, dood.

Nimrod, it's way too early to be happy/upset w/ the linup, though. There's a total of like 20 bands on there listed as 'confirmed'....that's not even enough to fill up one day.

Mike, I'll be camping like usual...I'm working on that as we speak....hoping for Lake Cahuilla. We usually head down late afternoon-evening Friday...start the weekend right. You're more than welcome to join, it's only a few miles away from the venue.

Uh, these bands are all good:

LCD Soundsystem
Kraftwerk
Prefuse 73
T. Raumschmiere
Flaming Lips
Basement Jaxx

and if Outkast (or at least Big Boi) comes, that's like 10 pretty good bands over 2 days. Which I guess isn't great but it's better than a lot of these festivals.

You're going to pay like 70 bucks to see one band play for half an hour?

The headliners usually play an hour..to an hour and a half sets. Most bands get more than 30 minutes.

god, why? he's one of the best songwriters i've ever heard and NMH are(were?) a fantastic band. there's hardly anything about them on the net, so i'd appreciate any news you have about them.
