To give a little more info about the situation...
I like both these bands fine. I've got all of YYY's stuff and I've heard a lot of the Locust.
I will end up going alone due to Best Looking Boy not touching hipster shows with a 1,000 foot pole. :(
He is my show buddy.
I've gone to shows alone before but just haven't in such a long time.

I wouldn't go alone, I'd have such a terrible time :(

It's too bad you hate the YYYs and you're not here.
We could go as a dominatrix/slave couple.

Locust was lame as expected.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs were intense and fun like sp aced said.

I love Explosions just as much as the next guy (and maybe just a little more since they're hometown heroes) but sometimes they can a little boring live.
They're way better on CD.
I say just listen to their cds and study. You'll be able to do both that way. :)

At least you guys got locust. When I saw YYY's a few months ago I had to endure deerhoof. I wanted to just sock that weird japanese dancing lady in the face.

um no i don't. fuck that indie leet shit. deerhoof is horrible, absolutely unlistenable. in the stupid japanese gibberish genre, cibo matto is a billion times better, at least they have some semblence of a beat and melody. when you play deerhoof to a crowd or just watched the audience at the concert, people are not bouncing their heads or feeling the music--rather everybody just looks at each other with a confused expression going "what the hell is this crap?!". Most of the people are just giggling and laughing at the absurdity of deerhoof. fuck deerhoof- and fuck pitchfork followers that like deerhoof only becuz pitchfork tells them to.

Their schtick is cool but the music, um. I don't know. I just don't get it. It was cool to see them. They at least get props for having a creative gimmick. Deerhoof on the other hand. Geez. If it were Deerhoof opening I would have just got hammered and tried to ignore them.
