I_was_aborted 11-02-2003, 09:18 AM The different order of the track thing is actually true...and the tracks fit together perfect. Its totally wierd...and to take this seriously you have to understand that Tool is really full of intelligent people who actually have studied lots of math and many other subjects. Those guys are pretty damn smart. Crono 11-02-2003, 10:10 AM Originally posted by I_was_aborted The different order of the track thing is actually true...and the tracks fit together perfect. Ghetto_Squirrel 11-03-2003, 01:37 AM Regardless of whether or not the author of that post is full of shit, I think his track arrangement is better. I_was_aborted 11-03-2003, 01:11 PM You guys can make fun of me all you want, no worries. I was simply pointing out that members of Tool....esp Danny Carey have been studying indepth math and ancient geometry for a big period of their lives. I was simply stating that it makes sense that they would put a "puzzle" in their album. I'm really surprised that there are as many Tool fans here as I've seen. The music generally takes an open-minded, intelligent, mature individual to really appreciate it...and there just aren't very many of those people on Netphoria. To tell you the truth...as a whole this place has quite a funny and crappy musical taste. It also has very few people who are actually open minded thinking individuals. Tis why usually when I post here I only expect flames, uneducated opinions, pictures of gross things or some stupid reference to the pumpkins after every post I make. You may ask then why do I post here? Its simply because its fun to see morons talk but to able to make them go away by closing a window. the 11-03-2003, 02:31 PM vertex smrt smort. oh yeah math and music. BULLSHIT. tool h8. They've reached a plain of thought that goes beyond your dollar-store philosophy and infatuation with intelligence? Ryan Patrick is a close friend of mine, and he posts anime pictures with penises penetrating in the anus and out through the vagina. He's probably far more intelligent than you are now. I know this because I was just like you 2 years ago. Then I realized that it doesn't take an intelligent person to appreciate Tool... it takes a jackass. I'll explain more later. Gotta type notes. Ok back. First off, I was like you in my argument for Tool dimwit. Maynard doesn't have some super-IQ (and his arguments are cliche and 1-dimensional). But my point with the jackass thing is that you shouldn't give a band any credit for how intelligent they are (although intelligence can alot of times change the output of a band) but for the quality of music they make. Danny could be f'ing Hawking for all I care. He still blows large amounts of ass. RP is Irrelevant. And I bet I don't really make you laugh. I bet I make you really mad or something and you type "You Make Me Laugh" as some half-assed over-used compensation for a lack of anything better. I_was_aborted 11-03-2003, 02:43 PM You make me laugh. By the way, no clue as to who Ryan Patrick is. Also you don't know what kind of person I am so its a little hard to say you were like me two years ago. I'm a fan of Tool, but I will be the first to admit that they have way more than their share of dumbfuck fans. Way more. You're stupid. But Danny Carey most definitely does not blow large amounts of ass. I really like Tool. I think all this....stupid shit that surrounds them sucks. I suppose the band is partially to blame for it though. Eh. whatever. Ænima rox! I_was_aborted 11-03-2003, 05:05 PM Every band has tons of stupid fans. Thats because there are tons of stupid people in the world. I've been to several Tool concerts and met quite a few people I would have just rather seen drop over dead. The whole world is like that. I'm just saying Tool's music seems to be misunderstood a lot of the time...mostly by stupid people, including fans. Hell, read any Tool message board and listen to those people talk about the lyrics. It can get quite funny. I am glad to know you think I'm stupid, it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside to know that you care so much. Oh and a lot of the shit that surrounds Tool is quite silly.....but some of it can be interesting....like what the thread was origianally about. You said that only mature and open-minded people can really appreciate Tool. That's really not true at all. Well I suppose it depends on your definition of 'appreciate.' Anyway. I just like the music. So yeah. mmhmm. ravenguy2000 11-03-2003, 05:33 PM Originally posted by I_was_aborted The music generally takes an open-minded, intelligent, mature individual to really appreciate it...and there just aren't very many of those people on Netphoria. must. stop. laughing. Affectation 11-03-2003, 07:42 PM DO NOT use MP3s to digitally reorder Lateralus. A lot of VERY IMPORTANT information is encoded on the actual cd. Ever notice how everyone who has lost or broken that cd has IMMEDIATELY gone out and bought a new copy? I know I have. It's because there are things encoded on the factory pressing of the cd that are lost in the mp3 compression process and any direct copy onto a cd-r. Riiiight. sickbadthing 11-03-2003, 07:46 PM See how Tool brings out the stupidity in people? IT AIN'T NO ACCIDENT, AND MAYNARD IS BEHIND IT! neopryn 11-03-2003, 08:02 PM I studied math too. Tool must be my brothers. stumpycat 11-06-2003, 01:50 AM YOU'VE GOT TO WONDER ABOUT ANYONE WHO STARTS OFF THEIR BIG, LONG, COMPLETELY UNFORMATTED BUT GROUNDBREAKINGLY IMPORTANT PARAGRPH LIKE THIS. I do like Tool, but... :erm  This guy sounds like he's full of it. And possibly terribly bored. It's smacks of one of those moronic "insights" you decide to write about something when you're fourteen or fifteen and attempting to sound groudbreakingly profound. (Machina Mystery contest, anyone? :embarass: ) A majority of Tool fans are...different, to say the least. But unfortunately a number of those people are also complete dickheads. The members of Tool seem to enjoy fucking with peoples' heads but alot of people seem to be missing out on the joke. So you get some fans who go looking for some "profound" meaning in all of their work but who are apparently a bit too thick to realise that there might not actually be any such assumed subtext to be found. Or the "meaning" behind the song is actually much more superficial and mundane than they have been led to assume from the context in which it is presented. This very much seems to be a deliberate act on part of the band. jaxx 11-06-2003, 02:36 PM Originally posted by NewFreshness we post anuses. but we dun have too! dat means im smartur than yuo. and all of us r! another dumbfuck canadian....trying way too hard. how cute. |
