Being...overtaken...by The Neil...

Neil Young - Harvest

Did I see you down
in a young girl's town
With your mother in so much pain?
I was almost there
at the top of the stairs
With her screamin' in the rain.

Did she wake you up
to tell you that
It was only a change of plan?
Dream up, dream up,
let me fill your cup
With the promise of a man.

Did I see you walking with the boys
Though it was not hand in hand?
And was some black face
in a lonely place
When you could understand?

Did she wake you up
to tell you that
It was only a change of plan?
Dream up, dream up,
let me fill your cup
With the promise of a man.

Will I see you give
more than I can take?
Will I only harvest some?
As the days fly past
will we lose our grasp
Or fuse it in the sun?

Did she wake you up
to tell you that
It was only a change of plan?
Dream up, dream up,
let me fill your cup
With the promise of a man

Hey baby, it’s your time now
Hey baby, you made it somehow
Don’t let nobody come and bring you down
Hey baby, you’ve got ’em on the run
You know, you’ve got ’em on the run
I know you, you have just begun
When you came into my life
My love, I thought I would die
There’s never been nobody like you
You take away these blues
Hey baby, you’re looking real good
You know, you’re looking real good
You make the day a song like I knew you would
When you came into my life lord, I thought I would die
I never met nobody like you
For telling my troubles to

Hey Baby - J.J. Cale

Hey Baby - J.J. Cale

JJ Cale is the man. I wish he'd tour.

I caught his last year at Wolf Trap in Virginia. Despite opening for the much lesser of the two, Robert Cray, it was a great show. He opened solo with "a couple of Eric Clapton songs". I'm not sure how many of the people there actually got that. Then Christine Lakeland and what he called 'the almost drums' played with him for about an hour. What was really great is that half of the people were standing, clapping, dancing along to the the opener!I don't think I've ever seen that outside of a small club. And then about a third of the people there (including myself) left before Mr. Cray took stage. It was really cool to see him even getting a small amount of the respect he deserves. I hope he gets around to touring again, because it really was a great show. I'll post here if he gets around to touring again....not that anyone else will care.
