for all you collectors, i got my Earphoria Advance Music CD today.

their are a lot of diffrences from the 94 release vs. the 2002. Such as the cover. in the 94 release you can see more of the hat of the front pig then on the newly released. On the back of the 2002 their are 2 stars next to Sinfony and pulseczar that tell us that they were published by Cinderful Music (BMI). Also the "Hear this on Earphoria: CD in stores November 19" and "See Vieuphoria: DVD in stores November 19" On the side it says "Earphoria advance music" for the 2002 release. The 94 seems to have a darker baby blue then the 2002. along with the diffrent year that is printed on the CD their really not much else.

hope you like this

Just to follow up on the informative post that Monte made, I got my Earphoria promo today too.

If you recall, this was on the original CD (at the bottom):

DPRO12694-2 MO L4A17N Y 2-1-2 EMI JAX

The 2002 version:

708761754728AVRE1 1-1-1 Mastered by EMI MFG. IFPI L044 1686

Also,

This doesn't have a "DPRO" number. Apparently Virgin has made a few thousand (guesstimate?) advance CDs.

Along the spine of the CD, it has Earphoria (in black) and then "advance music" (in white).

In then also has, as Monte described, on the back of the CD case the two quotes:

"Hear this on Earphoria CD in stores November 19"
"See this on Earphoria DVD in stores November 19"

It does have "For promotional use only, not for sale" on the back of the CD case, and it is also printed on the CD too.

On the original 94 version you had the following text:

All songs written by William Corgan except * written by William Corgan and James Iha, and + written by James Iha.
All songs published by Cinderful Music/Chrysalis Songs (BMI)

On the 2002 version:

All songs written by William Corgan except * written by William Corgan and James Iha, and + written by James Iha.
All songs published by Cinderful Music/Chrysalis Songs (BMI) except ** published by Cinderful Music (BMI). * published by Cinderful Music/Cellophane Star Music/Chrysalis Songs (BMI) and + published by Cellophane Star Music (BMI).

So I guess James has created Cellophane Star music?

Now on the new version the following songs have a double asterik after them (**)= Sinfony, Pulseczar and Why am I so Tired.

The hearts, I believe are the exact same pattern, color and size as the original CD. The compact disc logo is smaller on the new version, than the original.

Remember that the original had on the CD:

Virgin Logo
DPRO-12694
Copyright 1994 Virgin Records America
Compact Disc Logo

The 2002 version has:

Virgin Logo
7087 6 17547 2 8
This Compilation copyright 2002 Virgin Records America
All rights reserved
For Promotional Use Only, Not for Sale

Also, Virgin made a PROMO VHS called the "Vieuphoria DVD Trailer". On the sleeve it says the running time is 6:00, however, it was actually around 6:24. The trailer was created on 9/16/02 and the video was released and/or sent out on 9/23/02.

Video just shows a few of the different performances and talks about how this is the first live cd release for the band....

Something that is interesting was that on the sleeve of the video is has DVD Trailer (U.S. Version). Which makes me believe there is an international version probably with font in the specific language they are targeting. I don't think there is supposed to be any exclusive content overseas for a DVD release in any of the other regions....

Hope that helps,

Shawn

Any of you guys have any idea what the bonus track on the Japanese version will be? I'm having doubts that it'll be something new. A previously vinyl-only song might be cool. Purr Snickety for example.
