Does anyone know the effect(s) James used on "Today" SNL '94? Coz I think the sound coming out of it is just awesome. I would be grateful to anyone who replies. Thanks.

Thoughtless 09-13-2003, 07:59 PM wah (used mostly as filter) maybe? i haven't heard it in quite a while though. Luke1 09-14-2003, 06:58 AM I've been listening to it over and over and I've come to the conclusion that he used a fuzz-distortion pedal. Smiley 09-14-2003, 11:23 AM it was '93 kevinjboconnor 09-14-2003, 07:53 PM Originally posted by Luke1 I've been listening to it over and over and I've come to the conclusion that he used a fuzz-distortion pedal. no, for real? OnTopicMan 09-15-2003, 06:25 AM he used grape juice. frenchy 09-15-2003, 07:43 AM Probably a flanger as during the European tour... i need to hear that again... Thoughtless 09-15-2003, 08:00 PM actually, now that i think about it, i agree with frenchy, it does sound like a flanger (off the top of my head though). Luke1 09-16-2003, 05:01 PM It's a Fuzz Pedal definatley, maybe with a few other effects spguitar 09-17-2003, 05:13 AM They didn't use any fuzz pedals live besides MAYBE one on the Gish tour. James' rig on the SD tour was like this: Guitar > wah pedal > Alesis 3630 compressor > Marshall JMP-1 > Digitech 2101 processor > Mesa 2:90 power amp > Marshall 1960A 4x12 cabinet The effect was a Flanger and if i remember right Billy was the one using it with his Eventide H3000/SX harmonizer processor. Mason R Butler 09-17-2003, 05:25 AM HE TAPED A PEDAL TO HIS GUAITAR!!!! spguitar 09-17-2003, 06:56 AM Yup that was a Small Stone. Only in the studio though. ;) |
