i needed a real copy of the MBV album. the arab strap album is great. i think the heavenly album is my favorite album that i've purchased this year. yeah

oh yeah on vinyl i got a felt single for 'primitive painters' which i was really floored to see. it was $15 but ultimately worth it :erm

Peter Wyngarde - "When Sex Leers Its Inquisitive Head"
http://www.rpmrecords.co.uk/cool/pix/rpm187.jpg

RPM has again taken on one of pop's more bizarre offerings - Peter Wyngarde's one and only recording venture - an album steeped in myth and controversy, and one which encompasses ALL the categories above. Withdrawn within weeks after it first appeared back in 1970, and mired in contractural complications until RPM (as a genuine indie label!) were able to offer it a more than suitable home.

The record's outrageousness often overwhelms what would still be one of the more bizarre episodes in popular music. The listener is unlikely to forget "Hippie And The Skinhead", where Wyngarde reads out a letter written to "The Times" by two Home Counties skinhead girls, or the tale of "Billy the Queer, Pilly Sexy Hippie", sung over an incongruous, Nashville backing. And there's even something for discerning lovers of late Sixties English rock as he takes on the Attack's "Neville Thumbcatch", written by Vic Smith.

Come In / You Wonder How These Things Began / Rape / La Ronde De L'Amour / Jenny Kissed Me / The Way I Cry Over You / Unknown Citizen / It's When I Touch You / Hippie and The Skinhead / Try To Remember To Forget (Riviera Cowboy) / Jenny Kissed Me And It Was/// / Widdecombe Fair / Neville Thumbcatch / Once Again (Flight Number / ) / Pay No Attention / April

Absolutely. I shouldn't have to apologize for any of that...except for Bush. That was a $4 impulse buy because I remembered liking a few of the album tracks that didn't become singles [Swim and Alien, in specific...with a couple of other exceptions, the rest of the album is pretty bland]. It had been something like seven years since I last listened to that album. Surprisingly, I was right. Not a bad purchase.

Local H rocks.

Overall, I spent less than $100 on all of that. I bought the Dirty Three album today at a Library book sale for $1.

I used to own Pack Up the Cats and As Good As Dead by Local H. I couldn't get into them for the most part, although I did like a song or two from each record.

Isn't Dead Letter Office great? I especially love the fact that it *******s the Chronic Town EP.
