Haha, what a load of testosterone-induced bullshit. :p

Hippos are pretty damn tough, I guess. You wouldn't think it, but they're supposed to be really mean.

i heard that a hippo could easily outrun a man...they don't seem like they have it in them

seriously though, a bear would maul you in a second. they can stand on their hind legs at like 10 feet. you would die for sure.

i'm going to go with Bear...a mix of power & speed. hippo's are pretty wild, but i think it'd have trouble with something much quicker than it.

hippos are wieners, don't believe her. I wouldn't trust the athletic ability of anything African that's not black.

You spend five minutes in an enclosed area with a hippo and then come back and tell us that.

hardest as in "hard as nails". You americans have heard of that phrase, Ja?!

erm, i remember watching a wildlife program which stated that hippos are one of the most vicious and dangerous land animals.
But i think that was from a human perspective.. I can't see an elephant being afraid of a hippo..

The elephant is probably the hardest, from a phallic standpoint.

dong!

right. I think a bear would get stabbed by a rhino, but I lion would super-bite the rhino. I can't see anything beating the lion.

lions are pretty small compared to a hippo/ rhino/ elephant tho...i don't know how much damage they could do.

i voted for elephant, but i'm thinking i'd go for the rhino now...how are you gonna stop that beaut?

guz

would it be that easy for the rhino to stab the bear though? it has that one weapon...no hands/legs that would really have much use other than mobility..it'd be stabbing hoping to hit the bear. i think it'd be much closer than you think.

"Their major enemies, other than man the super predator, are lion and crocodiles. Although crocodiles seldom if ever takes a chance with a full grown hippo.

Hippos are extremely dangerous."

hippo > croc?

Hell, yeah. Do your research, man. You guys have no clue.

Hippos have tusks on their lower jaw that can grow to be up to two feet long. They probably have the toughest skin of just about any animal mentioned above. They are widely considered to be the most aggressive and unpredictable animals on earth. And they can <i>run underwater</i>.

In terms of purely physical attributes, it would likely come down to the rhino and the hippo, though my money would definitely be on the hippo due to the fact that they're just generally tougher and more violent and it would almost definitely have more fighting experience.

Either a rhino or hippo against a lion or bear, though? That's not even a fight.

This is the most retarded thread ever.

That said, I'd go with the rhino or the hippo. or the bear. Shit, I dunno.

http://www.und.ac.za/und/lesci/elephant/clash_of_the_titans.htm

"The first indication of a problem came in March 1994 when game scout reports *******d an adult white rhino bull mortality. This was not in itself unusual, since every year a few rhinos are reported killed. Most injuries are sustained during territorial-clashes between adult bulls, and occasionally rhino calves are also found dead, probably killed by bulls intolerant of interference with their amorous advances towards cows. What was different with this mortality was that the scouts reported that an elephant was responsible for the death.

Despite some initial doubts that elephants could be responsible, by the end of May 1994 15 more white rhino carcasses had been found and elephants were now accepted as the culprits. Typically, the neck and shoulders had deep penetrating wounds and scratch marks extended all the way along the body. In some animals, the shoulder blades were smashed and/or the back was broken."

Elephants chasing rhinos. (http://www.und.ac.za/und/lesci/elephant/elephants_chasing_rhino.htm)

I think it comes down to the elephant and the hippo...
